Festival start: 09 September 2022      Festival end: 17 September 2022

The Santander International Film Festival was born on September 18, 2017. It was born as a cinema week focused on creativity, entrepreneurship and youth. It focuses on cinema although it has also given space to other arts such as literature, video art and, in this new edition, video games and VR.

The main venue for the festival is the Botín Center (Santander), and we collaborate with the Botín Foundation, the Government of Cantabria and the City Council of Santander.

From the Santander International Film Festival, the second edition of the Environmental Short Film Contest will be held, with the aim of promoting the natural spaces of Cantabria as a filming set.

-Jury Prize for Best Short Film: Consists of €2,000 in cash plus a diploma or trophy.

-Audience Award for Best Short Film: Consists of €1,000 in cash plus a diploma or trophy. It will be given to the work with the most votes by the public attending the screening session(s). All short films screened in the contest will be eligible for this award.

II ENVIRONMENTAL SHORT FILMS COMPETITION.

Rules:

* All those individuals, legal entities or groups that have the exploitation rights over the works they present may participate.

*Each participant may submit up to two works of any genre -fiction, documentary, experimental or video clip- of a maximum of 20 minutes and produced in Spain after January 1, 2021.

*The works will have to show the natural environment of the Community of Cantabria.

*The works will be presented in their original language, subtitled in Spanish if this is not the original language (projection copies must meet this requirement).

*The works that do not meet the requirements will be eliminated from the competition phase.

*The organization assumes that the producers who register the works have the projection or exhibition rights of the same, assuming any commitment to the Management Entities of the authors, artists and performers, for the public communication that is made of the works as consequence of the projection of the same, on the occasion and reason for their participation in the contest.

*Likewise, it is assumed that the person who can make the registration and collect the award has the proper authorization of representation or be the producer himself.

*The selected individuals or groups must be identified by NIF or CIF and comply with current legislation.

*In any case, the organization disclaims any liability that may arise from the violation of these conditions.

REGISTRATION FORM:
It will only be done ONLINE through the Festhome platform or by sending a private vimeo link to the email info@ficsantander.es with the subject “SHORT FILM”, indicating the name of the author or authors of the work and a brief synopsis. The deadline for registration and reception of works begins with the publication of these rules and ends on August 15, 2022 at 11:59 p.m.

SELECTION:

*A selection committee, made up of professionals from the film industry and members of the organizing team, will be in charge of selecting, among all the works received, those that will participate in the contest. The decisions adopted will be communicated to the interested parties and published as of September 1, 2022.

*The organization of the Contest will contact those selected to inform them about the conditions and sending the projection copies. In case of needing a physical copy of the works, the participants will bear the shipping and return costs.

*The participants authorize the organization to use frames, photographs and excerpts of the works (maximum 2 minutes) for their dissemination in any communication and promotion medium, in order to promote and disseminate the contest. The documentation and material that is sent from the selected works may appear in all advertising and promotional media of the contest.

ACCEPTANCE OF THE BASES:

*Participation in the II Cantabrian Environment Short Film Contest implies acceptance of all the sections of these rules, as well as the resolution by the organization of any problem not included in them.

*The decisions, both regarding the selection of the works and the prizes, will be final.
