Organization

The short film festival Armoricourt is organized by the association Armoricourt, in partnership with the ACC du Douron and the Municipality of Plestin Les Grèves. The edition 11 will take place from 27 to 29 September 2019. The festival is held in France, Brittany, Côtes d’Armor, Plestin Les Grèves (22310).

Purpose

The Armoricourt festival aims to:
- Broadcast and promote the short film to the public;
- Support cinematographic creation;
- Encourage and reveal talents;
- Encourage meetings and exchanges between the directors, the public and the professional jury;
- Propose a cultural event. The festival revolves around a short film competition, split into 2 sections: French-language film competition and Non-French-language film competition, with French sub-titles.

Awards and Rewards
Competition for non-French movies

The film selection committee will award:
• The Armoricourt prize of the non-French-language film.
The audience will award:
• The Audience Award for “Non-Francophone Film”.
The awards, trophies or honorary diplomas, which accompany the awards, will be sent to the winners.

The competition of non-French films takes place without the presence of the representatives of the selected films. No support by the festival is therefore provided for this purpose.

Rules of the competition

3 / Participation in the competition

The competition is opened to professional or amateur filmmakers presenting films produced by production companies, associations, schools or self-produced.

4 / General conditions of participation

• The competition is opened only to fiction films made in real images;
• Animated films, clips and documentaries are not allowed;
• The theme is free;
• Films must have been made in 2017, 2018, 2019;
• The duration of films, including credits, must be between 5 minutes and 20 minutes;
• A director can present several films but only one can be selected.

5 / Registration

• Registration for the competition is only via the Festhome platform;
• The total price of registration of the film at the festival is 4€;
• Registration is opened from 12/03/2018 to 03/28/2019.

6 / Specific conditions of participation for Non-French langage Films

- The competition is open exclusively to non-French movies, with compulsory French subtitles;
- The selection of movies is made by the selection committee which will select 6 to 8movies;
- The selected movies are to be transmitted to the festival in 2 forms:
o A DCP
o A digital file in HD format (1920 * 1080);
- DCP and digital files must reach the festival before 08-10-2019;
- DCP will be returned by post;
- DCP have to be sent to: ARMORICOURT Festival - LE DOURON Cinema - Place de Launceston, 22310 Plestin-les-Grèves France
- The digital files are to be sent by Transfer or by a downloadable link to the following email address: festival.armoricourt@gmail.com If there is no DCP, the transmitted HD digital file will be converted to DCP by the festival technical service. This technical conversion can not be questioned during the projection.

7 / Promotion / Exploitation / Diffusion
Short films will be royalty-free for the duration of the festival.
The Producer/Director transfer to the festival, without compensation, the right to reproduce photographs or excerpts of the film for promotional distribution in the publications of the festival, on the association's website, for the trailers, in the press and on TV broadcasts partners.
They allow the publication of photos and videos of their images made during the event.
After the festival, the distribution of the films, in their entirety, will be possible with our broadcasting partners subject to the agreement of the rights holders. None of the authors or producers of the short films will be able to claim any remuneration or compensation for its presence or for the diffusion of its film during the festival.
The festival has no responsibility for the declaration (to SACEM or other), of musical extracts and score of the movies.

8 / General conditions (final clauses, disputes)

Registration and participation imply acceptance and unreserved compliance with these rules.
Only films registered as defined in Article 5 will be considered. The films, once registered for the selection, can not be removed.
The festival management determines the order and the projection dates of each selected film. These choices can not be disputed.
The organizers of the festival decline all responsibilities in case of loss, theft or degradation of the material provided. It is therefore up to those interested to take out individual insurance.
Failure to comply with these rules will result in the elimination of the short film at any time during the festival.
The festival reserves the right to modify these rules due to any events beyond its control. In case of modification of the rules, the selected film authors will be informed and may exercise their right to withdraw from the competition.
