PriFest is a unique and distinctive festival in Kosovo. PriFest is the only International Film Festival with feature and medium-length films in competition that happens in Kosovo.

PriFest possesses the cross-cutting segment in its multidimensional activities.
Firstly by tackling human right element through screening films on raising awareness about all marginalized groups in the society including women, youth, LGBT community, ethnic minorities and so on.

Second activity which PriFest considers as very important is raising awareness amongst the audience about protecting and improving the environment, and seeking to promote sustainable development.

PriFest includes the capacity building component through educational program by conducting forums like Prishtina Film FORUM, a set of regional co-production events, which bring important people from the cinema world and film industry from world, Europe and the region to Prishtina and helps them delivering updated information and knowledge in the area of co-production. Many sessions are lectured mainly from European professionals, of this field.

Pitching workshop is a valuable element of the PriFORUM that helps young producers learn how to present their projects and find funding / co-producer in Europe. The Best Pitch contest happens in front of international jury where (4F) first fiction feature film project for a director is presented and competes to get the Vanessa Redgrave for PriFest - Prize for Best Pitch.

Over the past years PriFest brought to Prishtina many Oscar winners, and winners of Bafta, Berlinale, Venice and many other prestigious awards. Amongst other guests, PriFest was visited by famous British director Stephen Frears and American director, 2 times Oscar winner, Paul Haggis.

The President of the Honorary Board of the festival is famous British actress, Oscar and Golden Globe winner, Vanessa Redgrave.
