Simbiosis Inmersiva Lab es un laboratorio de creación colaborativa organizado por Encuentros Australes del Festival Internacional de Cine de Valdivia (FICValdivia), orientado a conectar a profesionales del cine y la ciencia para desarrollar proyectos de narrativas inmersivas mediante tecnologías de Realidad Extendida (XR), como realidad virtual, aumentada y mixta. La convocatoria está dirigida exclusivamente a personas de nacionalidad chilena o residentes en Chile interesadas en la divulgación científica a través de nuevos formatos audiovisuales. Los proyectos pueden encontrarse en etapa de idea o desarrollo y no tienen restricción de género, siempre que integren un enfoque científico y una propuesta inmersiva. El laboratorio se realizará en Valdivia del 9 al 12 de octubre de 2026 e incluirá mentorías, talleres y actividades colaborativas con especialistas nacionales e internacionales. La fecha límite de postulación es el 16 de agosto de 2026, y las personas seleccionadas serán anunciadas durante la primera semana de septiembre.

Simbiosis Inmersiva LAB - FICValdivia
El 5.º Concurso de Guiones para Cortometrajes 2026, organizado por Detour.uy en Uruguay, busca fomentar la escritura y producción de obras audiovisuales en formato corto. La convocatoria está dirigida a personas mayores de 18 años con nacionalidad o residencia uruguaya. Las personas extranjeras pueden participar únicamente si acreditan más de cinco años de residencia y cuentan con cédula de identidad uruguaya.
Se aceptan guiones para cortometrajes de cualquier género, con una extensión máxima de 12 páginas, sin contar la portada. La convocatoria corresponde al área de desarrollo y fomento a la producción, cercana a la categoría de laboratorio o concurso de guion. No está destinada a obras terminadas ni a proyectos en etapa de Work in Progress.
Las postulaciones estarán abiertas desde el 7 de mayo hasta el 16 de agosto de 2026, a las 23:59. Los guiones finalistas serán anunciados el 10 de octubre de 2026 y el proyecto ganador se dará a conocer el 17 de octubre de 2026.

Montevideo Cine LAB - Concurso de Guiones
European Work in Progress is an industry platform held in Hamburg, Germany, from September 28–30, 2026, as part of FILMFEST HAMBURG INDUSTRY DAYS. Its purpose is to support the international circulation of European film projects in production or post-production by connecting selected teams with sales agents, distributors, festival programmers, and other audiovisual industry professionals.
The call is open to feature-length fiction, documentary, and animation projects that have at least one European production or co-production company attached. As a Work in Progress platform, it focuses on projects seeking to strengthen their completion, distribution, and international festival strategies. The submission deadline is August 17, 2026.

European Work in Progress Hamburg
WIP LATINO 11 is GLAFF’s Work in Progress program, created to support fiction and documentary feature films currently in the editing or post-production stage. The call is open to Latinx, Latin American, and U.S.-based BIPOC filmmakers. Selected projects will receive access to professional post-production services, a cash award, and industry networking opportunities during the festival. The program will take place in Los Angeles, United States, from November 5–7, 2026. Eligible projects must be feature-length fiction or documentary films with a running time between 60 and 140 minutes. GLAFF - WIP Latino
The Fill the Gap Initiative targets animation producers who participated in the Cartoon Forum 2024 and have not yet completed the financing of their projects. Its goal is to provide visibility and networking opportunities to close the financial gap and move projects toward production.
Selected producers must have at least 70% of the budget secured, a committed television channel, and submit a 30 to 45-second trailer to present their project. Participants are also required to attend matchmaking sessions organized during the event.
The initiative includes trailer screenings at the Coffee Show, participation in matchmaking sessions with buyers, sales agents, and potential co-producers, and presence in the Cartoon Forum mobile app. Geographic diversity is encouraged, and preference is given to projects not submitting a new project to the next Cartoon Forum edition.
The trailer submission deadline is August 18, 2025, with presentations on September 18, 2025, in Toulouse, France, during the Cartoon Forum. The initiative aims to help producers finalize financing and connect with strategic partners.
