REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DOCUMENTARY FEATURE FILM COMPETITION SECTION

• Non-fiction films on the subject of any aspect of the music world, as well as films experimenting with the limits of conventional narrative, provided that the focus of their discourse is music.
• The duration of the films shall be at least 60 minutes.
• The Festival reserves the right to include shorter pieces, if these pieces are of interest to it.
• All films selected by the Festival will be presented in their original version, with with subtitle files in English and Spanish.
Clarification: films whose original version is Spanish will not require subtitles.
• Film submissions will be formalised by the producers, directors, or legal representatives of the works.
• Only films produced after May 2023 are eligible to participate in the Festival.
• The films selected for the official section must have their premiere in Gipuzkoa at the Dock of the Bay Festival, and must not have been released in commercial theaters, digital platforms or on VOD.
• For their screening, only copies in DCP format will be accepted.
• It is mandatory that DCPs be produced by professional laboratories. In the case that the materials submitted do not have this format, the creation of a DCP will be charged to those responsible of the film.
• The DCPs will be sent through a digital link, the festival will have a platform available to make this transmission.
• Submission deadline: February 15th, 2024.
• The selection committee will be in charge of choosing the films that will conform the 2024 Official Selection and will be formed by members determined by the organization.
• These Rules & Regulations are published in English, Basque and Spanish. In the case of doubt, the Spanish version is valid.
• The submission of a film implies the acceptance of the terms and conditions of these guidelines.

• Non-fiction films on the subject of any aspect of the music world, as well as films experimenting with the limits of conventional narrative, provided that the focus of their discourse is music.
• The duration of the films will not exceed 30 minutes.
• All films selected by the Festival will be presented in their original version, with Spanish subtitles files (if the original version of the film is not in Spanish).
• Film submissions will be formalised by the producers, directors, or legal representatives of the works.
• Only films produced after May 2023 are eligible to participate in the Festival.
• The films selected for the official section must have their premiere in Gipuzkoa at the Dock of the Bay Festival, and must not have been released in commercial theaters, digital platforms or on VOD.
