I – Registration & Rights
Registration for the competition is free via this [form]. It is also possible to register via Festhome: https://festhome.com.
The competition is open to all amateur or professional filmmakers worldwide. Any minor participant must have obtained parental authorization prior to registering for the competition.
Participants guarantee that the submitted works are original and unpublished (reproductions of existing works are prohibited) and that they hold all exploitation rights to said works.
Accordingly, participants are solely responsible for obtaining authorization from any third party directly or indirectly involved in the production and/or who might claim any rights over it, and they agree to cover any related payments. In general, participants guarantee the organizers of the competition against any claims, actions, or demands by third parties relating to the rights granted herein and, more broadly, to any guarantees and commitments undertaken under this agreement.
ATMOSPHERES 21, a non-profit association under French law organizing the Festival Atmosphères, reserves the right to verify compliance with the provisions of this article.
II – Eligibility Criteria
To participate in the competition, candidates must:
Be at least 18 years old;
Submit a film in French or with French subtitles (VOSTFR);
Respect the competition themes;
Meet the submission deadline;
Not have submitted the same film more than three times to the competition;
Have read and accepted the competition rules;
Hold the distribution rights and ensure protection of the work;
Submit no more than two films to this competition.
The following are accepted:
Animated films, documentaries, and fiction works under 15 minutes;
HD files (submission via viewing link);
Films may be made by any means and on any format;
A minimum resolution of 720p is required.
Finalists must send ATMOSPHERES 21, upon publication of the selection results, a high-quality digital version of their film, a technical sheet, and a high-definition portrait.
If the information provided by participants does not allow for notification, they will lose finalist status and cannot claim any rights.
Finalists expressly authorize ATMOSPHERES 21, free of charge, to screen their films at the Festival Atmosphères and, if applicable, during the closing ceremony.
IV – Selection
Each film meeting the eligibility criteria will be reviewed by the selection committee, which will shortlist 5 to 10 finalist projects. Finalists will be notified by email and/or phone during the week of October 9, 2025 (a waiting list will be established in case of withdrawal).
The shortlisted finalist projects will be submitted to the student jury, the professional jury, and a public vote on the evening of the screening.

VII – Communication & Distribution
Finalists authorize the association Atmosphères 21 and its partners to promote their projects in the context of the competition and the Festival Atmosphères on all communication channels (both professional and public).
Photographs and video recordings made during the competition are authorized by the finalists, as well as their use on any communication medium related to the competition.
Atmosphères 21 and its partners cannot be held responsible for the rights of the submitted works.
Any disputes are subject to French law and the jurisdiction of French courts.
The association Atmosphères 21 solely decides on all aspects of the competition not covered by these rules and may grant exceptions.
