The “Shaan-e-awadh International Film Festival” is promoted by “Splash Etcetra” and organized by “Awadh Art Society”.

Splash Etcetra, a software production company and advertising firm, which was established by some professionals of the Indian Film and Television industry in 2007.

Awadh Art Society, the organizer of “Shaan-e-awadh International Film Festival (SAIFF), is a Non Government Organization, which is purely dedicated towards the artist, performer, musicians, writers, directors and other known and unknown form of art to promote Indian Art & Culture in India and Abroad.

Festival Invites all film makers, in INTERNATIONAL (WORLD CINEMA) SECTION; INDIAN SECTION (FEATURE FILMS) and THEME ORIENTED SECTION; SHAAN-E-AWADH SECTION; COMPETITION SECTION.

The festival aims to showcase the best of the latest World and Indian Cinema through this competition section. To encourage filmmakers, Festival also aims to present innovative works done by various film makers.

The Awards aim to encouraging the production of films of aesthetic and technical brilliance and competitive excellence and social relevance contributing to the society.

Winners will get an official winning certificate along with winning trophy; and all the film-makers whom film was officially screened at festival, will get an official selection certificate.

a) INTERNATIONAL (WORLD CINEMA) SECTION:
The festival’ selection panel will choose best of the World Cinema through this section. Its intention is to support a better appreciation and understanding between cultures from around the world. International section of the festival aims at showcasing award winning and critically acclaimed films produced from all over the world in a non-competitive format. This section is open to only NON-INDIAN films.

b) INDIAN SECTION (FEATURE FILMS):
The Indian section of the Shaan-e-awadh International Film Festival will present the best of the Indian films from all the Indian languages. The aim is to present critically acclaimed and reputed films of Indian film makers to the Indian audience and celebrate Indian cinematic brilliance! This section is open to only INDIAN films.

c) COMPETITION SECTION
The festival aims to showcase the best of the latest World and Indian Cinema through this competition section. To encourage filmmakers, Festival also aims to present innovative works done by various film makers. This section includes feature film, short film, animation film, music video and documentary films. The feature films must have been produced between January 1st, 2014 to April 30th, 2017. The short Film/ Animation/ Music Video/ Documentary must have been produced after 30th April 2012.

d) THEME ORIENTED SECTION
In this section we invite filmmakers who have made films on ”CLEAN INDIA”, “MAKE IN INDIA”, “DIGITAL INDIA”, “EDUCATION”, “PATRIOTISM”, “HUMAN RIGHTS”, “PEACE”, “WOMEN EMPOWERMENT”, “CHILD LABOUR”. These films can be reviewed independently and will be awarded as Independent Award in the particular Theme.

e) SHAAN-E-AWADH SECTION
SHAAN-E-AWADH SECTION aims to exploring new creative talent and also to promote films made by Locals, by providing an opportunity to showcase their work in the Process of exploring the magic of cinema. Films in any format including their Mobile phones are accepted in this section. This section is open to only RESIDENTS OF UTTAR PRADESH. This section includes all genres of films.

GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS
1)Festival will accept those films in the “Competition Section” which are premiered in other festivals, however if any film is released theatrically, via satellite or internet, will not be accepted in the “Competition Section”. These films can be sent for “Indian Section or International Section”.

2)Film categories include all feature film, short film, documentary, animation film and music videos and experimental features. Festival entries are open to all films regardless of origin, content and genre.
A) To be eligible for short film category competition section, a film must be 1 minute and less than 30 minutes in duration

B) Non- fiction, documentary competition section must not exceed duration of more than 45 minutes

C) Animation films in competition section must not exceed duration of more than 20 minutes.

D) Feature Films in competition section must be above 75 minutes

E) Theme Oriented film can be in all section; Shorts/ Feature/ Docu/ Experimental.

F) If any film is less than 75 minute & above than 30 minutes will be count as Experimental Short

If a film is not eligible to be entered in any category will be eligible for Critic Film and non competition section.

OFFICIAL SELECTIONS
Official selections include all films selected to be screened during the festival. Special presentations include films invited by SAIFF to fortify our program. The films in competition represent the official selections chosen by our selection committee to go through the award jury process.

Submission Rules

Entry requirements:
1. All the Films will be screened in their original language. Films in language other than English must have subtitles in English.
2. Films to be submitted should be made after April 2012.
3. Duration of limit for Short Film is 30 Minutes; for Feature Film duration must be 75 minute Or above. If film is more than 30 Minutes and less than 75 Minutes, will count as experimental shorts.
Entry fee:
4. For Short Film: US$ 15 for Overseas and 1000 INR for Indian Film-maker
For feature Film US$ 30 for Overseas and 2000 INR for Indian Film-makers
(Applies for each film submitted)
5. The Entry Fees can pay online OR via Demand Draft in favour of “Awadh Art Society”, Payable at Lucknow.
Submission requirements:
6. Filmmakers are responsible in providing:
2 Error free DVD (PAL only) for the preview. Please ensure the DVD can be viewed on a consumer DVD player and is not copy protected as multiple copies may be made.
1 disc containing the film as an Mpeg2/ Mp4 files in 720p/1080P resolution (“.mpg” file extension)

7. 2 production stills, on a separate CD, must also be submitted with the DVD. Please make sure picture resolution is minimum 300 dpi.

Film Rights:
8. Through submission to SAIFF, the filmmaker grants SAIFF the rights to:
- exhibit the film and/or stills in the Film Festival and any subsequent screenings
- reproduce the film and/or stills for inclusion as part of a compilation
- exhibit the film and/or stills either in part, or in total, for promotional purposes for festival.

Film Selection:
9. An independent committee of industry professionals will view and select entries for the screening.
10. Films that are not selected for Festival may still be shown at other SAIFF related events.
11. If your film has been selected you will be notified via email.
12. All entries will be handled with care, SAIFF can’t be held responsible for any damage or loss.

The applicant agrees to have read and accepted the rules & regulations for participation in the 5th Shaan-e-awadh International Film Festival 2017. The applicant undertakes that he/ she has the requisite authority or has obtained the requisite authority from the producer/right holder to enter this film in the 5th Shaan-e-awadh International Film Festival 2017 and make available the film and other materials for screening and festival purposes.

I agree to abide By the Decision of Jury of 5th Shaan-e-awadh International Film Festival 2017 as Final and Binding. The Decision of The Juries Shall Be Final And Binding And No Appeal Or Correspondence Regarding Their Decision Shall Be Made By Me.

I certify that the film entered is NOT a dubbed/revised/copied/remade version of a film. I certify that the Footage acquired for the film has proper permissions and due credits have been given in the film. I certify that the musical score used is original. I hereby declare that the information provided is true to the best of my knowledge and corresponds with the credit titles of the film. I also understand that the Shaan-e-awadh International Film Festival has the right to reject any entry, at any stage, if the information entered in this form is found to be incomplete or incorrect. I have no objection to the screening of this film for the jury or for any of their panels, in non-commercial public shows or in any other way the 4th Shaan-e-awadh International Film Festival 2017 may consider fit.
