11th Babul Eco Film Fest 2027 has both competitive and non-competitive sections.
1) Short Film Contest-SFC: Duration below 5 minutes on any topic of ENVIRONMENT
2) Green Film Screenings-GFS: Duration above 5 minutes below 60 minutes. On any topic related to Environment, Biodiversity, Sustainable Development, Climate action etc.,
The main festival happens in Hyderabad, Telangana India during June 2027 and later travels to different places.
After this some films will have repeat screenings at different venues based on the themes as per the date and audience suitability. The selected films might be screened before notification date.
Cash Prizes: 606€
Prize money of INR.₹ 70,000/- [ USD 700 ] will be awarded to the winners in SFC Short Film Contest. This includes:
~ USD 400 for short films [for non-Indian countries]
1st Prize 220 USD
2nd Prize 120 USD
3rd Prize 60 USD
* (subject to fluctuations in Foreign Exchange rates)
and
~ ₹30,000/- for short films [Indian Entries]
1st Prize ₹ 15000
2nd Prize ₹ 10000
3rd Prize ₹ 5000
11th BEFF2027 winners will get Laurels, Cash award, citation and Screening Certificate.
All the selected films ( Foreign and Indian ) will get Laurels, Screening Certificates.
Winners physically attending the award ceremony will get a BEFF memento/trophy.
Rules:
~ Films should cover one or more aspects of Environment, Biodiversity and Sustainable Development - any topic relates to Environment.
~ All genres, including documentaries, narratives, shorts, children’s films, and experimental films, Animation, PSAs, Mobile and AI generated are all welcome.
~The quality of the film production will also be considered and weighed.
~Animation includes: traditional animation, 2D animation, 3D animation, motion graphics, and stop motion
~ Film run-time: Upto 60 mins for

~ Format: MP4 / AVI / MOV
~ Films shot on mobile are also accepted
~ Non-English films SHOULD HAVE English

~ Films made after 1.1.2025 are eligible.
The Jury for pre and final selection of film for 11th BEFF 2026 consist of personalities from the world of Environment, Media, Cinema, and audio-visual, as well as entrepreneurs or artists engaged in and/or Social Work. Decision of the organisers regarding film selection is final.
By submitting their films, the filmmakers agree that BEFF can screen the films at different venues as part of the travelling BEEF festival including Mini Festivals.
~The trailers of the films will be used in social media for enhanced outreach.
~For the Short Film Contest, in addition to the above, the following rules also apply:

Duration: Below 5 minutes ( including credits )
Total prize money of INR ₹70,000/- will be awarded. For details refer to AWARDS section.
Note: While we make all efforts to hold a live physical event, however, due to prevailing situation the festival holds the right to postpone/defer or convert to online virtual festival or in Hybrid more. Some films, particularly the longer duration films might screened beyond the announced festival dates.

11th BEFF 2027 Green Film Screenings GFS
Films upto 60 minutes in all genres are welcome. Films should directly relate to any one or more aspects of the Environment, Biodiversity and Sustainable Development, Climate change etc.,
Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
