Animacción is an international festival of animated short films, which showcases the artistic potential of a whole new generation of animators. Organised by the cultural association dedicated to animation ‘Ánimas Anónimas’, the festival returns this year for its 9th edition.


I would put this whole paragraph like this: The selected short films will be screened from 27/10 to 01/11 in different venues in the metropolitan area of A Coruña, and the winning films from both the general section and the children's and Galician sections will be chosen by voting by the audience attending the screenings.

The days of the screenings will be an opportunity to create a bridge between professionals from the world of animation and the public, as we will be programming talks and activities for all audiences related to this discipline.

In addition, the programme will include a series of talks and activities which, together with the screenings of the short films, will serve to create a bridge between professionals from the world of animation and the public.

Cash Prizes: 400€

- Audience Award: There will be a cash prize of 200 euros for the first place winner, who will be selected by the audience.

- CREA Animation Award: for the best direction, with a cash prize of 200 euros. Awarded by the jury formed by the CREA creators' association.

- Mellor Curta Galega (Best Galician Short Film) Award: Awarded by the audience attending the Galician sections.

- Mellor Curta Infantil Award: Award given by the audience attending the children's sections.

The prizes are subject to Spanish law and will therefore be subject to withholdings and taxes in each case.

- The technique is free: works can be sent in any of the existing techniques in the world of animation (2D, 3D, Stop Motion ...), or even invent a new one.

- The theme is free. Works that promote hatred, violence or discrimination of any kind will not be accepted.

-Out of pure respect for the hard work involved in creating a piece of animation, we reject outright any work that has been developed through the use of generative AI, and detecting the use of generative AI will result in immediate disqualification".

- Registration and participation in the festival is free of charge.

- In order to participate in the D.O. GALICIA category, the author must prove that he/she was born in Galicia or that he/she is a resident of the Galician Community at least two years before the year of this edition (at least since 2022) and that the short film was shot in Galicia.

- Technical requirements: the work submitted must have a minimum duration of 1 minute and no more than 12 minutes, not counting credits. The production of the work must not be prior to the year 2023. Works that have participated in any category of previous years' editions will not be selected. The works must be sent in .mp4 or .mov format - Codec H264, trying not to exceed 800 mb, with a minimum resolution of 1920x1080.
