Mits Festival de Videodanza Moviment i Transformació Social Barcelona ()

MiTS (Movement & Social Transformation) is a Social Video-dance Festival which explores the interrelation between video and dance as a tool to bring about powerful discussions and visibility to all kinds of diversity: diverse identities, diverse bodies and territories to discover.

Residence in the Barceloneta Civic Centre for the direction of a new video-dance project.

The pieces sent to the festival will become a part of the Festival’s video library and may be displayed for cultural and educational purposes (but in no case for commercial purposes).

Call MiTS 2027

This call is addressed to those video-dance pieces which through video and the body in motion interrogate us as individuals and as a society. We will value both the artistic content, aesthetic and technical, as well as the theme and social compromise of the pieces.
Pieces that simply record a dance performance will be left out of call.


1. Edition 2027
In the MiTS’27 edition we try to support local and emerging artists, as well as pieces that are made by people with identities or bodies with diversity.
Commemorating the 50th anniversary of the dictatorship in Argentina, and being part of the conference for the Recovery of Historical Memory in Spain, in the edition of MiTS’27 we will have especially in mind topics close to the recovery of identity and strengthening historical memory.


2. Contest
The contest will be open to all people, regardless of their gender, age or nationality.
It will accept productions made during 2025, 2026 y 2027.
The pieces cannot be over 8 minutes long.
Video-dance pieces that include members of the Festival’s organising team will not be allowed in the contest.


3. Acceptance of the works
Entries will be accepted from October 15 through January 15, 2027.
They have to be sent via email to festival.mits@gmail.com
Subject of the email: Concurs MiTS 2027 - TITLE Piece/Proyect
The body of the email must include the following information:
Name of the piece or project
Piece web link (vimeo/*youtube)
Brief synopsis of the piece or project
Length
Nationality
Name of the director and/or choreographer
Year of realization

4. Selection of the pieces
The selection process for the works will take place between January 15 and 31, 2027.
The results will be published on the website and those selected will be notified via email.
The selected pieces will have to be sent in HD format for its projection in the contest.
