Welcome to The 2nd Film Tuition International Festival — a festival by filmmakers, for filmmakers.
After a successful debut season in Islamabad from March 9–10, 2024, where we screened 74 National and International films and hosted 4 hands-on workshops, TFTIF is proud to return for its second season. Our inaugural edition celebrated cinematic excellence with vibrant participation and honored outstanding work with awards and certificates across multiple categories.
Held in the heart of Pakistan’s capital, TFTIF is a celebration of global filmmaking, offering a platform for both emerging and established storytellers to showcase their creative visions. Our goal is to connect filmmakers with diverse audiences from across Pakistan and beyond, fostering a space where stories transcend borders.
At The Film Tuition, we believe in the power of film to educate, inspire, and spark dialogue. That’s why TFTIF isn’t just a festival — it’s an immersive experience featuring powerful screenings, industry-led workshops, and collaborative panel discussions. From passion projects to bold new voices, our festival reflects the rich tapestry of international cinema while embracing the cultural heritage and artistic spirit of Pakistan.
Join us as we continue this cinematic journey — to explore, engage, and celebrate the magic of film.
For queries and questions, email us at festival@thefilmtuition.com.
All officially selected films at The Film Tuition International Festival (TFTIF) will receive a Certificate of Participation. Winners in each award category will be honored with a Trophy and Certificate of Achievement.
Additionally, exceptional works may receive special prizes provided by our event sponsors. All nominations and winners will be officially announced on the festival’s website and social media platforms.

Feature Films (Narrative, Documentary, Animated): 40 to 180 minutes
Short Films (Narrative, Documentary, Animated): Up to 40 minutes
Shorties / Reels / Microfilms: 10 to 120 seconds
Music Videos: 1 to 7 minutes

3. Rights and Screening Authorization
By submitting your work to TFTIF, you grant the festival the non-exclusive right to publicly screen your film during the festival dates, which may include multiple venues and cities within the designated period.
TFTIF does not pay screening fees to filmmakers. Submission implies that you agree to waive any screening fee requests. If you are unwilling to grant these rights without a screening fee, please do not submit your work.
4. Selection Process
The festival programming team and selection committee, composed of experienced industry professionals, will review all eligible submissions. The jury’s decisions regarding official selection, nominations, and awards are final.
5. Submission Format and Language
Submissions must be made via the approved platform(s) and in the specified formats. All non-English works must include English subtitles.
6. Copyrights and Clearances

7. Promotional Use of Submitted Materials
By submitting your work to TFTIF, you authorize the festival to use trailers and selected short clips for the promotion of the festival across its official YouTube channel, website, and social media platforms.
TFTIF may also include brief excerpts of submitted films in nomination and winner highlight videos. The festival will not upload or publicly share the complete work without the explicit written consent of the filmmaker. In certain cases, TFTIF may approach selected filmmakers for potential distribution or full-length showcases with mutually agreed terms.
8. Withdrawal and Refund Policy
Once submitted and selected, entries cannot be withdrawn from the festival. Submission fees, if applicable, are non-refundable, regardless of selection outcome.
9. Storage and Archiving
TFTIF reserves the right to retain all submitted materials in its digital archive for internal reference, research, and record-keeping purposes. Submitted works will not be screened or distributed outside the festival context without written consent.
10. Anti-Piracy and Confidentiality
All submissions and associated materials are handled with the highest level of confidentiality and security. TFTIF implements anti-piracy measures to ensure that content is not copied, distributed, or viewed outside the approved viewing environments.
11. Modifications for Compliance
In cases where a work contains content that may conflict with local screening requirements (e.g., nudity, violence, politically sensitive content), TFTIF reserves the right to request minor edits (e.g., blurring or censorship) in coordination with the filmmaker to allow for public screening in Pakistan.
12. Festival Discretion
TFTIF reserves the right to determine the eligibility, categorization, and exhibition format of all submissions. Exceptions to these rules may be made at the discretion of the festival management.
13. Liability and Indemnification
TFTIF is not responsible for any loss or damage to submitted materials. By submitting, the entrant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless TFTIF and its affiliates from any claims or liabilities arising from the submission or screening of their work.

The Film Tuition International Festival proudly introduces the Vertical Film category, dedicated to celebrating stories created for the vertical screen experience. As audiences increasingly consume media on mobile and social platforms, vertical filmmaking has become a powerful new form of cinematic expression.
This category is open to all genres — narrative, documentary, animation, experimental, or hybrid — as long as the film is produced in a vertical aspect ratio (9:16 or similar). The maximum runtime is 30 minutes, making it ideal for short- and mid-length vertical storytelling.
To encourage innovation in this emerging format, there is no entry fee for submissions in the Vertical Film category at TFTIF.
Selected Vertical Films will screen alongside other official festival selections and will be eligible for the Best Vertical Film Award.
