- All European's short film producers and directors can participate, without age limit.

- Short fiction films can participate in any production format.

- Each participant can submit a maximum of at the most two works, which must have been produced after 1st January 2017.

- The length cannot exceed 30 minutes.

- Works which have been submitted to previous editions of the festival will not be
accepted.

- Productions shot in any foreign languages must be subtitled in Spanish in order to be shown at the Festival.

The European European short film Villamayor de Film Festival! born in 2008 in the town of Villamayor de Santiago (Cuenca), giving shape to the dream to start a festival where the shorts are the protagonists, and young directors to make themselves known.

Villamayor de Film Festival! held on the third weekend of August, during intense days of work in which a team of young professionals is directed by the creator of the Festival, Javier Alonso.

The leading Spanish actor Jesús Guzmán is the President of honour of this Film Festival, which goes each year to deliver trophies of Villamayor de Cine!.

Awards

All nominees will receive a diploma certification.

After showing all the films, every winning short film will receive a trophy created for the occasion, as well as the awards for the different categories:

- Globalcaja -Jesus Guzman Award, Best Fiction Genre Short Film Jury (awarded with €500 and a trophy)

- Audience Award for Best Fiction Genre Short Film (awarded with a whole lot of typical local products and a trophy)

- Jury Award for the Best Documentary Short Film (awarded with 100€ and a trophy)

- Jury Award for Best Foreign Language Short Film ( awarded with a whole lot of typical local products and a nameplate)

- Jury Award for Best Actor (provided with a whole lot of typical local products and nameplate)

- Jury Award for Best Actress (provided with a whole lot of typical local products and nameplate)

- Jury Award for Best Director (provided with a whole lot of typical local products and nameplate.)

- Jury Award for Best Screenplay (provided with a whole lot of typical local products and nameplate)

- Jury Award for Best Short Film Editing (provided with a whole lot of typical
local products and nameplate)

- Jury Award for Best Picture (provided with a whole lot of typical local products and nameplate)

- Jury Award for Best Sound (provided with a whole lot of typical local products and nameplate)

The Audience Award and the Jury Award can be combined. All fiction films, either Spanish or European, are suitable to apply for the Audience Award.

1. Application

All European short film producers and directors can participate, without age limit.
Short films can participate in any production format.

The festival will take place on the 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th of August, 2018.

2. Terms

Each participant can submit a maximum of two films, which must have been produced after the 1st of January, 2017.

The length cannot exceed 30 minutes.

Those works which do not ensure a correct technical projection quality, and/or standards, will be rejected.

Works which have been submitted to previous editions of the festival will not be accepted.

The Festival assumes that the applicants hold all the royalties and rights needed to exhibit and promote the works, and refuses any liability for the infringement of this rule.

Productions shot in any foreign languages must be subtitled in Spanish in order to be showed at the Festival.

3. Registration

The registration period will take from the 3th April 2018 until the 18th June 2018. You may submit your screening copies online (more information on http://www.fecvillamayor.es)

When registering the work, you will be requested to provide a series of data that will make up the registration form, so the participant who makes the online shipment does not have to send anything else by mail or e-mail. Any questions

The participants authorize the organization to use excerpts from films for broadcast in any media, in order to promote the festival, as well as the use of stills from the film as advertising materials in newspapers and any other media.

4. Selection/Choose

Among all the films submitted, eighteen (18) of them will be chosen to participate in the Festival. The choice of the films will be made by a committee of the organization, under a precise quality control.

The result of the selection will be published on the July, the 18th, 2018, and the contestants will be informed by email. The decision of the committee will not be subject to appeal.

In order to guarantee their screening, the organization shall have received the chosen short films before July the 18th, 2017 in the following particular format:

- Codec: H.264 – Resolution: 1920X1080 – Fps: 25

The festival counts with enough resources, such as insurance policies, to be able to afford the costs which could result from possible loss or damages of the screening copies, or any other relevant material related to the films; the festival would carry out with its replacement immediately. Likewise the festival will assume the return of the screening copies (pen-drives, hard disks or any other optical format) only into the Spanish territory.

The chosen short films will be shown in public sessions at the venues set by the
organization; at the time and on the date established in the official program of
the festival, or, as the case may be, according to the organization of the festival.

5. Jury

The Official Jury, consisted of well known culture experts, will award the prizes.
The Jury will be able to invalid any category, either because an explicit lack of quality of the works submitted or because there were not enough films available, or give prizes out of competition, and their decisions will not be
subject to appeal.

The prizes will be collected the night of the Gala in Villamayor de Santiago, on the 11th of August 2018. The organization will appreciate the attendance of each short film representatives and will pay for their accommodation and maintenance.

During the screening sessions, the audience will award the Best Film Prize by polling after each screening.

The audience’s decision will not be subject of appeal.

7. General Conditions

− Copies of the films not selected will be kept by the festival archive, and they can be showed, after informing the producer, during other events apart from the festival. The producer can completely deny this exhibition.

− The festival can organize, with the producer authorization, any other informative sections with the films not nominated, at the same time as the Official Selection.

− The chosen short films producers authorize the display of the works (up to three minutes length), through any media channel, including Internet.

− The date and the place of the Festival can be changed by the organization, in this case the concerned will be informed on time.

− The organization keeps the right to change some of these rules, as well as interpret them in case of doubt. The decision of the organization is not subject to appeal.

− In case of being cancelled or delayed for reasons unmanageable by the organization, the contestants will not receive any compensation, but the works will be kept to participate in at any time it will be celebrated. The participation in this festival represents to agree with these guidelines.
