The COJ International Film Festival (COJIFF) is an annual film and cultural event dedicated to celebrating powerful storytelling from Nigeria, Africa, and the global filmmaking community. COJIFF aims to amplify emerging voices, encourage creative exchange, and spotlight films that reflect culture, identity, innovation, and social impact. 2026 marks the first edition, setting the foundation for a vibrant platform that connects filmmakers, audiences, and industry professionals.


Submission Process

All submissions must be made exclusively online via the official COJIFF entry portal (link to be provided). Entries received through any other channel will not be considered.


Required Submission Materials

Each entry must include the following:

· Film title, runtime, and country of production.
· Synopsis (maximum 250 words).
· Director’s biography and a high-resolution headshot.
· 2–5 high-resolution stills from the film.
· Official film poster (digital format).
· Secure online screener (password-protected link preferred).


Awards

COJIFF awards will be presented in the form of Plaques, Certificates, or Trophies. The festival presents a range of competitive categories, including the Audience Special Jury Award (non-cash), where the winning film is determined solely by audience vote.


Festival Protocols

Selected filmmakers must comply with all venue rules, security requirements, and festival protocols for the screening of their work. This includes providing a high-quality exhibition file in the specified format by a strict deadline.


Liability

COJIFF is not responsible for:

· Damaged, corrupted, or incomplete submission files.
· Loss of materials during digital transfer or shipment.
· Any copyright or intellectual property claims arising from the content of submitted works.
By submitting, the filmmaker warrants that they hold all necessary rights to the film and agree to indemnify and hold harmless COJIFF, its organizers, and partners from any and all claims, liabilities, or legal actions arising from the submission or screening of the film.


Festival Rights

COJIFF reserves the right to:

· Use excerpts (up to 2 minutes), stills, and provided promotional materials for festival marketing and publicity across all media.
· Determine the final selection and scheduling of all films presented.


Acceptance of Terms

Submission to the COJ International Film Festival constitutes full and unconditional acceptance of these Rules & Terms.

The festival management reserves the right to amend these terms, or the festival program, at its discretion and without prior notice.

COJIFF 2026 will present awards in:

Best Film, Best Feature Length Film, Best Short Film, Best Documentary, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best Cinematography, Best Sound Design.

ELIGIBILITY: COJIFF accepts submissions from filmmakers of all nationalities. Special consideration given to films from Nigeria, Africa, and the African diaspora.

PRODUCTION DATE: Films must have been completed between January 2023 and January 2026.

LANGUAGE & SUBTITLES: Films in English or any Nigerian/local language are accepted. All non-English films must include English subtitles.

LENGTH: Short Films: Under 40 minutes. Feature Films: 60 minutes and above.

PREMIERE STATUS: World, African, Nigerian, or regional premieres are encouraged but not mandatory.

ENTRY FEES: COJIFF 2026 operates on FREE SUBMISSION FOR 2026 Edition.

SUBMISSION FORMAT: All films must be submitted via Festhome only. Preferred formats: HD digital files (MP4 or MOV).

SCREENING COPY: Selected films must submit a high-resolution 4K or 6K final screening copy by March 20, 2026.

By submitting, you grant COJIFF the non-exclusive right to screen your film and use materials for promotion. You confirm ownership of all necessary rights. The festival's decisions are final.
