Terror Matanza Film Fest is an international film festival based in La Matanza, Buenos Aires, Argentina, dedicated to horror, fantasy and science fiction cinema.
Created by independent filmmakers and genre enthusiasts, the festival was born with the purpose of promoting and celebrating independent audiovisual works from around the world, providing a space where emerging and established filmmakers can share their stories with an audience passionate about genre cinema.
We welcome films that explore fear, imagination and the unknown through original storytelling, compelling visuals and creative filmmaking. Whether psychological horror, supernatural tales, monsters, science fiction, dark fantasy or experimental genre films, we seek works that leave a lasting impression.
Our mission is to connect filmmakers, artists and audiences while supporting independent cinema and encouraging new voices within the international genre film community.

Terror Matanza Film Fest es un festival internacional dedicado a celebrar el cine de terror, la fantasía y la ciencia ficción en todas sus formas.
Nuestro objetivo es brindar un espacio de exhibición y encuentro para realizadores independientes de todo el mundo, promoviendo obras que desafíen la imaginación, exploren nuevos lenguajes audiovisuales y mantengan vivo el espíritu del cine de género.
Buscamos cortometrajes y largometrajes capaces de sorprender, inquietar y emocionar al público, desde propuestas clásicas hasta las más experimentales. Creemos que el terror, la fantasía y la ciencia ficción son herramientas únicas para contar historias, reflejar nuestros miedos, cuestionar la realidad y expandir los límites de la creatividad.
Además de las proyecciones, buscamos generar un punto de encuentro entre cineastas, artistas y espectadores apasionados por el cine fantástico.

RULES & TERMS
Terror Matanza Movie Fest
1. Eligibility
The festival is open to filmmakers of all nationalities.
Short and feature films in the genres of Horror, Fantasy and Science Fiction are eligible, including hybrid and experimental works.
Films may have been previously screened or participated in other festivals.
2. Festival Dates
The festival will take place in La Matanza, Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, on the dates announced by the organization.
3. Language
Films in languages other than Spanish must include Spanish subtitles.
Spanish subtitles are strongly recommended for all international submissions.
4. Screening Format
Selected films must be delivered in a high-quality digital format (preferably MP4 H.264 or MOV, Full HD resolution or higher).
5. Official Selection
The Selection Committee's decisions are final.
Selected filmmakers will be notified by email and through the submission platform.
6. Awards
The festival will present awards in the following categories:
Best Director
Best Screenplay
Best Cinematography
Best Makeup & Special Effects (FX)
Jury Special Mention
Audience Award
The Jury reserves the right to withhold awards or create additional special mentions if deemed appropriate.
7. Screening Rights
Filmmakers retain full ownership and copyright of their works.
By submitting a film, participants authorize Terror Matanza Movie Fest to screen the selected work exclusively during the festival and any official screenings directly related to the current edition.
8. Promotional Material
The festival may use posters, still images, trailers and up to one minute of footage exclusively for promotional purposes.
9. Responsibility
The submitter confirms that they own all necessary rights to the film and accepts full responsibility for any copyright issues involving music, images, scripts or any other copyrighted material.
10. Acceptance of the Rules
Submitting a film implies full acceptance of these Rules & Terms.
Any matter not covered by these regulations will be resolved by the Festival Organization, whose decisions shall be final.
