Call for Entries: 21st Korea University Film Festival (UNIFF 2026)

The 21st Korea University Film Festival (UNIFF 2026) is now accepting submissions from emerging filmmakers and student creators from Korea and around the world.

Under this year’s slogan, “THE NEXT FRAME BEGINS HERE,” UNIFF 2026 invites aspiring filmmakers to share their work and become part of a new generation of cinema.

Submission Period

June 16, 2026, 12:00 AM – September 10, 2026, 11:59 PM (KST)

Eligibility

* Current undergraduate or graduate students, including students on leave, from universities in Korea or abroad

* Individual filmmakers or filmmaking teams

* Films produced by students enrolled in film, media, visual arts, or related programs, as well as student film organizations

* Films selected through an open submission process
Eligible Films

* Narrative / Fiction
* Documentary
* Animation
* Experimental Film
* All other genres

There are no restrictions on genre or runtime.
Production Date

Submitted films must have been produced between June 2025 and the opening of the 2026 festival.

Awards

* Grand Prize — KRW 1,000,000 + Award Plaque
* Best Film Award — KRW 500,000 + Award Plaque
* Best Director Award — KRW 500,000 + Award Plaque
* Best Actor Award — KRW 500,000 + Award Plaque
* Best Actress Award — KRW 500,000 + Award Plaque
* Technical Achievement Award — KRW 500,000 + Award Plaque
* Jury Special Award — Award Plaque
* Audience Award — Award Plaque, selected directly by the audience

Total Prize Money: KRW 3,000,000 (approximately USD $2,000, subject to exchange rates), plus trophies and other awards.

1. Screening Committee Submission File
File Format: MP4
Maximum File Size: 1.5 GB
Purpose: For screening committee review and judging
Recommended Codec: H.264
Recommended Resolution: Full HD (1920 × 1080) or higher

2. Festival Screening File
File Format: MOV
Codec: Apple ProRes 422
Purpose: Original master file for festival screening
File Size: No limit (high-quality file recommended)

4. Important Notes
Please make sure that the download links remain active and accessible throughout the festival selection and screening period.

For easier file management, please include the film title and director's name in the file name.

Please set the sharing permissions to “Anyone with the link can download” so that the festival staff can access and download the files without requesting additional permission.
