The 3rd Seoul Hangang International Film Festival (SHIFF) is an international short film festival held in Seoul, South Korea.

SHIFF aims to discover and introduce emerging filmmakers and distinctive short films from around the world. The festival celebrates creative storytelling, cinematic originality and diverse artistic perspectives through an international competition and curated screening programs.

The 3rd edition welcomes short films from filmmakers of all nationalities and provides an opportunity for selected films to be presented to audiences and film professionals in Seoul.

We invite filmmakers from around the world to participate in the 3rd Seoul Hangang International Film Festival.

3rd Seoul Hangang International Film Festival


Rules & Regulations

1. The 3rd Seoul Hangang International Film Festival is an international short film festival held in Seoul, South Korea.

2. The festival is open to filmmakers of all nationalities.

3. Films completed on or after January 1, 2025 are eligible.

4. The maximum running time is 60 minutes.

5. Fiction, documentary, animation, experimental and hybrid short films are eligible.

6. Films in languages other than English must include English subtitles.

7. Films that have previously received an award at another film festival are not eligible.

8. There is no premiere requirement for submission.

9. Each filmmaker may submit more than one film. Each film must be submitted separately and may be subject to a separate entry fee.

10. Once an entry has been submitted and the entry fee has been paid, the entry fee is non-refundable, except where otherwise required by applicable law or by the festival.

11. Submission does not guarantee selection.

12. The festival's selection committee will review all eligible submissions and determine the Official Selection.

13. The festival reserves the right to determine the final screening schedule and program.

14. Selected filmmakers will be notified by email.

15. Selected films may be screened during the 3rd Seoul Hangang International Film Festival from December 8 to 10, 2026, in Seoul, South Korea.

16. Selected filmmakers grant the festival permission to use the film title, filmmaker's name, still images, poster images, synopsis and trailer excerpts for festival promotion and publicity.

17. The festival does not acquire ownership or copyright of submitted films.

18. By submitting a film, the filmmaker confirms that they have the necessary rights and permissions to submit the film and authorize its screening.

19. The final selection and award decisions of the festival are at the discretion of the festival's selection committee and jury.

20. The Awards Ceremony is scheduled for December 12, 2026.

21. The festival reserves the right to amend the program, schedule or regulations when necessary.

22. By submitting a film through FESTHOME, the filmmaker confirms acceptance of these Rules & Regulations.
