Festival start: 29 January 2027      Festival end: 29 January 2027

Napoli AI Film Festival (NAIFF) is an international festival dedicated to short film created with Generative Artificial Intelligence.

Based in Naples, Italy, the festival explores how AI is transforming filmmaking, visual storytelling and creative production, bringing together filmmakers, artists, creators and new voices experimenting with emerging technologies.

We welcome submissions across the following categories:

• Narrative Short Movies
• Commercial / Advertising
• Music Videos
• Naples-inspired Film

Submitted works must meaningfully incorporate Generative AI into their creative or production process.

Beyond the competition, NAIFF is designed as a meeting point for the emerging AI filmmaking community through screenings, conversations, workshops and creative experiences.

Naples is an essential part of the festival's identity.
Through a dedicated special award, we invite filmmakers from around the world to use AI to explore, reinterpret and imagine Naples, its culture, people, landscapes, stories and heritage.

Napoli AI Film Festival is presented by Creative Tech for Humanity, a non-profit organization promoting culture, creativity, education and responsible technological innovation.

Official Awards
• Best Narrative Short Movie
• Best Commercial / Adv
• Best Music Video

Special Award
• Best Naples-Inspired Film

A special award dedicated to works that creatively explore Naples, its identity, culture, heritage, people, landscapes, traditions or contemporary life.

The work does not need to be produced in Naples. We encourage filmmakers and AI creators from anywhere in the world to reinterpret the city through their own perspective and imagination.

Selected winners will receive:

• An official Napoli AI Film Festival Award
• An official Winner Certificate
• Festival recognition and promotion across media and NAIFF channels
• Screening during the festival
• Additional awards, services and prizes provided by festival partners and sponsors

Sponsor or partner prizes will be announced and updated on the official festival page as they are confirmed.

Transparent Judging

We believe filmmakers deserve to know how their work is evaluated. That's why our judging process is fully transparent.

All selected works are evaluated by an international jury of six professionals, using the same criteria for every work:

• Originality / Concept
• Authorial Vision & Direction
• Storytelling / Message Impact
• Creative Use of AI
• Visual Consistency
• Production Value
• Technical Control & Finish
• Sound, Music & Voice

How we ensure a fair process:

• Every juror scores every work independently.
• The highest and lowest jury scores are excluded, so no single opinion can decide the outcome.
• Jurors with any connection to a work abstain from scoring it.
• Submission fees and submission dates have no influence on selection or awards.
• After the festival, we will publish the full results: the final scores and rankings of all works in competition, together with the jury and audience scores for each.

The Audience Is Part of the Jury

At NAIFF, the audience has a real voice. During the screenings, everyone in the theatre can rate the works in competition.

• The audience's average rating counts as one full jury vote.
• It has the same weight as each member of the official jury.
• Final results combine the scores of the official jury and the audience.

By submitting a work, the applicant confirms they have read and accepted these Rules & Terms.

1. Use of AI
Works must meaningfully use Generative AI in their creative or production process (e.g. image, video, animation, voice, music, sound, VFX, post-production). Each submission must briefly describe the main AI tools, models and workflows used.

2. Rights and Responsibility
The applicant must hold all rights and permissions for the work, including images, footage, music, voices, performances, trademarks and any protected material. If the work reproduces or simulates the recognizable image, likeness or voice of a real person, the applicant must obtain any consent required by law. The applicant takes full responsibility for the content and confirms its screening will not knowingly infringe third-party rights.

3. Language
Works may be in any language. Non-English dialogue must include English subtitles.

4. Selection
Submission does not guarantee selection. The programming team decides the official selection and competition.

5. Screening and Promotion
The applicant authorizes the festival to screen selected works during the festival and related non-commercial cultural or promotional activities, and to use excerpts, trailers, stills, posters, titles and supplied materials for communication, press and social media.

6. Fees and Costs
Submission fees are non-refundable, including for works not selected. Travel, accommodation and expenses are not included unless expressly communicated by the festival.

7. Awards
Awards, partner and sponsor prizes may be added or updated before the festival and will be announced through official channels.

8. Audience Vote
Audience members at the screenings may rate the works in competition. The average audience rating for each work counts as one jury vote, with the same weight as each official juror.

9. Publication of Results
After the festival, final scores and rankings of all works in competition will be published. Individual juror scores remain confidential to protect the jury's independence.

10. Changes to the Programme
The festival may modify dates, venues, programme, schedules or award categories for organizational reasons.

Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
