The Videofestival Imperia, organized by Officine Digitali is open to amateurs and professionals. Registration is free. The Festival is now in its 14th edition and will take place in Imperia from May 05 to May 09, 2020. Deadline for foreign works is December 02, 2019. 21118 authors from 100 nations participated to the 2019 edition. 88 films were screened.
INTERNATIONAL CATEGORY:
Reserved to foreign authors. The sections are: Short films, Documentary films, Animation & Graphics films with unlimited running time. Works must be subtitled in one of the following languages: Italian, French, English. To the first selected work of every section will be awarded a prize. The subject is free.
EXPLORER CATEGORY:
Open to national and international authors. The sections are: Travel Documentary (running time max. 30 min.) and Nature Documentary (unlimited running time). Only to one work chosen by the jury will be awarded a prize.

15TH VIDEO FESTIVAL CITY OF IMPERIA
REGULATION OF PARTICIPATION
ART.1
The Videofestival City of Imperia is organized by the “Officine Digitali”, in collaboration with the Municipality of Imperia and Confesercenti (Italian confederation of trade and commerce) and is dedicated to works produced in every kind of system and ratio. The Festival is restricted to professional directors, filmmakers and schools (in a separate section). Classes may also participate indicating in the application the data of a person in charge.
ART.2
Every director or every school may compete with one or more works.
ART. 3
The Festival is organized in three fixed categories plus a special category, all divided into sections:
PROFESSIONALS CATEGORY divided in: Films Section (with no time limits) Documentary Section (with no time limits) Animation & Graphic Section (with no time limits) Only to one work per section, chosen by the Jury, will be awarded a prize.
AMATEURS CATEGORY divided in: Feature films Section (Films, fiction etc. lasting more than 30 minutes). Only to one work will be awarded a prize. Short films Section (Films, fiction etc. lasting less than 30 minutes). Only to one work will be awarded a prize. Documentary films Section (Geographical, scientific, investigation, inquiry, lasting less than 30 minutes). To the first three works will be awarded a prize. Animation and Graphics Section (Video animation, computer graphics etc., lasting less than 10 minutes). To the first three works will be awarded a prize. Videoclip Section (lasting less than 5 minutes). Only to one work will be awarded a prize. Schools Single Section (without distinction of speciality but lasting as previous sections). Only to one work will be awarded a prize.
INTERNATIONAL CATEGORY: to which may participate exclusively foreign authors with works divided into the following sections: films, documentary films, animation films without limits of duration. Works must be subtitled in one of the following languages: Italian, French, English. To the first selected work of every section will be awarded a prize. The subject is free.
FESTIVAL OF FESTIVALS CATEGORY:
to which may participate exclusively other festivals. The best three works of the previous edition may be presented
EXPLORER CATEGORY:
There are two sections Explorer, national and international, for professionals and amateurs, who will compete together: Travel Documentary Section (Trip documentary lasting less than 30 minutes). Only to one work chosen by the Jury will be awarded a prize. Nature Documentary Section (Video reportage about nature and wildlife without limits of duration). Only to one work chosen by the Jury will be awarded a prize.
ART . 4
The Management of the Festival reserves the right to cancel the sections with no works enrolled or with works not worthy of selection. The dates and the schedule of the screenings of the films admitted to the contest will appear afterwards on the official site: www.videofestivalimperia.org on the proper page (Calendar Selections).
ART. 5
In order to participate in the Festival, the works transferred on DVD disc must be mailed within and not later than December 2, 2019, for national and international competition (the date of postmark will be considered as proof) and addressed to the attention of the Art Director Mister Fiorenzo Runco, Video Festival Città di Imperia, Strada Colla 18 – 18100 Imperia (Italy). The works entered must be accompanied by the application form duly filled up in all its parts and undersigned. The forwarding charges are at the sender’s expense. The Management is not responsible for works not received. The participation to the Festival is free. The works received over the expiry date will be accepted for next edition. In order to avoid problems of compatibility, the screening will be made by computer. We suggest, therefore, to avoid protected DVD, otherwise we’ll be unable to guarantee the correct vision of the selected works. ART. 6
The works may be presented on DVD, on the cover of which it is ABSOLUTELY COMPULSORY to write CLEARLY the title, the length and the year of realization, together with the name and address of the author. The participants must also state clearly, on the cover, in which category and section they intend to be included. The works not in compliance with the above-mentioned rules will NOT BE TAKEN INTO CONSIDERATION. A stage shot is also required, together with the detailed synopsis of the work presented.
ART. 7
Every author is responsible for the contents of his own works.
ART. 8
The Art Direction of the Festival reserves the right to make a previous selection of the material received for the admission to the contest. The works received will not be given back and will remain at disposal of the Secretariat of the Festival which may disclose them by any means, partially or totally, exclusively for educational purposes. A general file of the works and the authors will be constituted.
ART. 9
The Festival will take place from May 05 until May 09, 2020 at the Auditorium of the Chamber of Commerce in Imperia. The prize-giving will take place during the final evening. Prizes will be given directly to the winners or to their delegates. In case of absence of the winners, prizes will not be conferred. Home delivery is reserved only to international prizes.
ART. 10
The Jury who will award the prizes, is constituted by experts of the sector, appointed by the “Officine Digitali” and chaired by the Art Director. The judgment of the jury is inappellable.

The jury may decide to distribute extra prizes for special reasons. The members of the jury may also decide not to distribute one or more prizes if the quality level of the work is considered below a minimum standard.
ART. 11
The participation to the competition means the unconditional acceptance of this regulation of participation. The management of the Festival has the final decision on everything not expressly specified by this regulation.
ART. 12
According to the Italian law 196/03 concerning Privacy, the participation to the Festival implies, as far as the authors are concerned, the authorization to treatment by all means of the personal data and to their utilization by the Festival organizer or third parties
