Patagonia Eco Film Fest, calls filmmakers from all over the world to participate in the 9th International Environmental Film Festival of Patagonia which will take place in Puerto Madryn city, Chubut, Argentina from September 5-10, 2024.

1- The Festival

PEFF is a great resource for educating, inspiring and motivating the audience. We have created a space for reflection and discussion about the difficulties our Earth faces today.

The committee will select feature films and short films, both documentary and fiction and animation, which will take part in the competitive and in the non-competitive section of the festival. A renowned jury will present an award to the most distinguished films.

Registration for the festival is USD 3.- for international films. For Argentinian films it´s free using the Entry Fee Waiver.

Those films that do not refer to environmental topics will be excluded from the festival.

This edition will have cinema screenings and also online screenings.

2- Registration & Selection

Films which have been done after January 1st 2021 will be able to participate in the competitive sections. We will accept different genres such as documentaries, fiction or animation.

The decisions made by the jury will be not subject to appeal. The selection of the films will be announced in August 2024.

Call for entries will be open from March 1 to June 30, 2024.

Once the call is finished, the committee will get in touch with the selected films that will have to send:

- Precise format of the film to be projected (.MP4 or .MOV)
- Trailer of the film (In case it has one).
- Three illustrative photos (300 dpi, jpg /tiff) to be used during the festival.
- Cast, crew and filmography of the director.

The material will be accepted before August 10, after this date the participation in the festival is not guaranteed.

Once the film is programmed in the festival, it will not be removed from selection.

3 - Material

The registered films must be their final version; Work-in-Progress projects will not be accepted. In cases where Spanish is not the original language of the film, a Spanish-subtitled version will need to be available before the festival. If no Spanish-subtitles are planned, please get in touch with the committee of the festival. The subtitles must be included in the file; otherwise the film will not be selected.

4 - Author`s rights

The person responsible for the registration of the work authorizes the Patagonia Eco Film Fest to screen the film during the festival, and allow the organization to use two minutes from the films as promotion for the festival in every way as they consider.
