The CalellaFilmFestival is a festival dedicated to all those Low Budget films of national or international production, with the aim of rewarding and promoting films made with few media but with high artistic value.

The CalellaFilmFestival has two sections:
"Low Budget" section
The selected feature films will compete as best productions of the year in the national or international scope, with an investment of less than 500,000 euros.

Section "Creative Rosebud Awards"
All those productions that throughout the year have stood out for their creativity and originality, both in the field of national and international production, with an investment exceeding 500.00 euros will compete.

The festival will be held from november 2 to 4, 2024 in Calella de Mar (Barcelona) in the Sala Mozart and other rooms attached to the festival. For schedules, passes and more information go to the festival website.

The film directors of the awarded films will be invited to the awards ceremony.

Rules: Low Budget Films Official Section contest

OBJECTIVES

In the official Low Budget Films section, all those productions considered low budget will compete, both in the field of national and international production.

The objective of this competitive section is to promote, select and reward films made with few economic means but with great artistic value.

OFFICIAL BASES OF PARTICIPATION

The festival will be held from November 2 - 4, 2024 in Calella (Barcelona).

The deadline to receive the works is June 30, 2024.

The films may be submitted to the Festival through the digital platform associated with the festival that is detailed below.

The works must be accompanied by the following information: title, brief synopsis of the work, year of production, duration in minutes, production company, director, screenwriter, music, photography, email and contact telephone number and artistic file of the film.

The Festival Commissioner will be the body in charge of selecting films for competition.

BASES

The work must be unpublished until the start date of the Festival.

The production date of the films received must be after January 1, 2023.

The works may be presented in any language.

Those films shot in languages ​​other than Catalan or Spanish must be presented with subtitles in Catalan or Spanish.

The productions cannot exceed 500,000 euros of filming budget.
The minimum duration of the film will be 60 minutes.

The commissioner will assess the characteristics of each production in order to select the films for competition and his decision will be absolutely unappealable.

A specialized jury chosen by the Festival commissioner will be in charge of awarding the prizes.

The decision of the jury will be final and questions related to its verdict will not be accepted.

Those films that do not have sufficient quality for their projection may be disqualified.

The producers and distributors of the selected films will assign the rights for the public screening of the film at no cost to the Festival.

All the selected works must present promotional photographs free of reproduction rights, a press kit and a trailer to the organization.

The Festival may use fragments of the films to promote the films themselves and the festival in general.

Once all the films have been selected, the candidates must send a copy on DVD, Blu-Ray, DCP or another optimal format for its projection and they will not be able to withdraw the work from the Festival's programming.

Participation in the Festival implies acceptance of these rules. Any new question or change that arises during the Festival and that is not contemplated in these regulations, will be previously communicated to the authors of the works involved.

The public award will be announced by press release, once the votes of all the competing films have been correctly counted.
