Official competition:
The festival contains a major official competition. It is dedicated for all of the short (fiction / Animations). Three major cash prizes to be won and granted by an international panel.

20 films competition for children:
This competition is dedicated to movies about children and youth. A panel of 10 children from different countries to award the Prize to the winner. The winning film is going to be presented in one of the most important Spanish festivals with the presence of the director.

The film panel:
The film panel consists of prominent international names, offering cash prizes for the winning works in the different categories of narrative films and animation films.

Call for Applications: Short Film Competition

13th Edition – Chefchaouen International Film Festival for children & youth
Chefchaouen, Morocco | July 09–13, 2025

The Chefchaouen International Film Festival for children & youth is pleased to open the call for submissions to its Short Film Competition, as part of the 13th edition taking place from July 09 to 13, 2025.

This competition aims to highlight the creativity of emerging and established filmmakers, offering them a platform to share their visions with a diverse and international audience in the iconic city of Chefchaouen.

Eligibility Criteria:

- Film Type: Fiction, Or Animation
- Duration: Maximum of 20 minutes
- Submission Format: Digital (via downloadable link or private screening link)

Awards & Recognition:

Selected films will be screened during the festival and compete for the following awards:

- Best Short Film
- Jury Prize
- Best Director
- Audience Award

Award-winning and selected films will receive certificates of recognition and may be featured in festival-related promotions and future events.

Important Dates:

- Submission Deadline: 25 June 2025
- Official Selection Announcement: 13 July 2025
- Festival Dates: 09–13 July 2025
