Festival start: 01 February 2025      Festival end: 31 December 2025

We love horror and we're very excited to watch your films!

The Bloody Horror International Film Festival (BHIFF) is an international festival seeking the best in indie horror (both amateur and professional).

The festival is set up in two yearly sessions. Selected films will be recognized and awarded in various categories.

BHIFF has made a point to keep our entry fees low as to give everyone the chance to enter, and we offer a high number of award categories!

BHIFF is headquartered in Canada, but its panel of judges is set in different parts of the world and comes with a variety of horror film expertise.

As of June 2025, BHIFF will now be sharing more content on social media! We think this is a great way to help promote your work/creations for everyone to see! We hold the rights to use any material submitted and will use this to promote your amazing creations! We may use film trailers, posters and clips of submitted films (even non-inning films)

Here at BHIFF, we feel everyone's work is a masterpiece! We have the hard job of choosing our Official Selections and Winners. This doesn't mean we didn't love all the films. We aren't always able to screen all of the Official Selections and Honorable Mentions because we have time limits at the venues.

So, we feel that sharing on social media is a great way to get everyone work seen!

We have partnered up with the nice folks over at B-Movie TV!
B-Movie TV is a Live TV Channel that is available via Roku Box. B-Movies 24/7!

Every film that wins BHIFF's Baddest B-Movie award will be exclusively screened LIVE on B-Movie TV's channel! How cool is that?!

Lots more exciting stuff coming soon!

We're always very excited to see your creations!

Best Horror feature
Beast Horror Short
Beast Horror animation
Best Horor Web-Series
Beast Creepy Clown

NEW! BHIFF will be posting your creations, or clips of your creations, on our social media platforms! Such as, but not limited, TikTok, Twitter (X) and Facebook.

We feel this is a great way to get your films seen - or show teasers. We'll also be posting material from all our Official Selections!

Update: Bloody Horror International Film Festival (BHIFF) will run in two yearly sessions!

Bloody Session: Winter-Spring
Deadly Session: Summer-Fall

We are open to many categories, including:

Features, shorts, animations, web series, trailers and 15 second short scares. Please check out our submission list to see all the categories!

Online submission will be accepted through film festival platform Festhome. We do not mind if your film has already been published online or not, but project completion must be dated no more than 5 years old. Language should be in English, otherwise it must contain English subtitles or be dubbed in English.

We prefer online submissions (Youtube, Vimeo, etc.). But we will accept hardcopies in some cases. These must be a digital copy on DVD (minimum 1920×1080). Please contact us for mail submissions.

* Please include a PRESS KIT, if possible, when sending in your submissions *

All submissions are final. No refunds are provided.

We reserve full rights to use your names, films and film clips, posters, & any other provided information and material (and likeness of aforementioned) for publicity and to display on our website, Facebook page and any media we chose - online and printed.

Please note: no REAL people or animal cruelty will be accepted. Any such material will be immediately dismissed and reported to proper authorities.

By submitting your film you agree that you own the rights to it and are responsible for the content (ie - you own or have permission to you the music, score, images. etc used in your films).

By submitting, you are granting BHIFF (Bloody Horror International Film Festival) the rights to use the names, synopsis film, and any artwork you've submitted to use as promotional material we may create (publish online, create pamphlets, posters, etc).

No refunds will be given whether your film is or isn't selected for the festival or screenings. Any hard copy of your film and promotional material will not be returned.

Looking forward to watching your beautiful, gruesome, horror films!

Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
