BASES OF THE CUTTER COSTUME COMPETITION


Our festival is oriented towards the genre of science fiction, horror and fantasy. If this condition is met, participation in the short cut competition is open to all shorts directed by people over 16 years old. The registration deadline for short films will begin on December 23rd and will end on August 15th, 2026 at 11:59 pm.

The organization reserves the right to close the shipment before it closes if necessary through online platforms. The digital files will form part of the heritage of this festival and will be used for cultural activities with the aim of profit or for the dissemination of this festival.

REGISTERED OBLIGATIONS


the. - Each author and group can present more than one work.


b. - The festival assumes that the owners of the short films presented have all the rights to exhibit and promote the works and material they represent. This festival trusts that it is responsible that it is not the subject of any legal complaint and declines any legal responsibility with respect to its children and its holders.


w. - Shipping costs will be borne by the participants.


LOS CORTOS REQUIREMENTS


w. - The theme of the short films will vary depending on the category.

1) Science fiction category: the theme will be free, of any secondary genre, although science fiction must prevail (character of this festival), and carried out in a real image. For the moment, documentary short films will not be accepted.

2) Fantasy category: the theme will be free, of any secondary genre, although the fantastic genre must prevail (character of this festival), and performed in a real image. Documentary short films will not be accepted at this time.

3) Horror Category: the theme will be free, of any secondary genre, although the horror genre must prevail (character of this festival), and carried out in a real image. Documentary short films will not be accepted at this time.


d. - The duration of short films cannot exceed 15 minutes.

y. - This short film should be completely finished after the 1st of January 2024

F. - Registration will be online through Festhome

Registration fees are below

From December 23rd to June 16th: 4 euros
from June 17th to August 15th: 6 euros

h. - The short films must be shot in Spanish or Catalan, or subtitled in one of these languages.

i. - The selected ones will be asked to send the short films in HD compatible files that will be viewed from a Hard Disc.

2. PRIZES


a.- This competition has four prizes. They will be chosen by a professional jury independent of the festival.

- best international costume short film (prize + gift)
- best international science fiction short film (prize + gift)
- best international horror short film (prize + gift)


3. THE COMMISSION


the. - The BCN Fantasy film fest committee is responsible for this festival and for managing the information derived from it.

b. - Task:

Carry out the selection of finalist short films that will be submitted to the Professional Jury and will be projected between September 18, 2026.
Notify those selected from September 1, 2026.

w. -Y reserves the right to:

Reject a work due to poor image or sound quality.
Modify any point on these bases if circumstances require (committing to pertinent notifications)


4. JURY


The jury's decisions will be unappealable.

The professional jury for the Sera awards is made up of 3 members who are film experts. The juror will be able to give special mentions that he considers opportune (no economic prize or trophy).


5. EXHIBITION


the. -The organization will establish the exact viewing time for this festival as soon as possible.

b. - The award ceremony will be scheduled for the day of this festival, September 19, 2026, at approximately 7:00 pm in the city of Barcelona.


6. FINAL PROVISIONS
the. - Any incidents not covered in these Bases will be resolved by the Festival Committee.

b. - The acceptance of these bases implies accepting that they can appear in the streaming sessions (which will be erased at the end of the contest, videographic and photographic records of the finalists in future broadcast campaigns of the festival, as well as the photographs and recordings made during the 2026 festival, for the planned broadcasts both in written press and in digital broadcasts for y for the BCN Fantasy film fest (exclusively).
