It is a Festival with two sections to contest. Official Section and Section of Asturian Short Films. Three prizes will be awarded (best short official section, best performance and best short Asturian). All the information is in the bases. Any author of any nationality can participate.

IX SAN MARTÍN DEL REY AURELIO INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILM FESTIVAL

CINESAN 2025

1.-There are two sections in competition: the Official Section and the Asturian Short Films Section.

2.- Any author of any nationality may participate in the Official Section.

3.- Works directed by Asturian authors, or shot in Asturias, or shot in Asturian language, will participate in the Asturian Short Films Section.

4.-Three awards are based:

In the event that the recipient of the prize is a natural person:

- In the exercise of a professional activity: issue an invoice with a VAT tax rate of 21%, so that adding the Taxable Base and the VAT rate results in the established prize, and IRPF withholding of 15%, as a general rule.

- Fan: Not subject to VAT, income tax withholding of 19%, in accordance with the provisions of art. 101 of law 35/2006.

In the event that the recipient of the prize is a Company, it will issue an invoice with a VAT tax rate of 21%, so that adding the Taxable Base and VAT rate results in the established prize.

The prizes will be the following:

AWARD FOR THE BEST SHORT FILM OFFICIAL SELECTION €1,000 + Trophy

AWARD FOR THE BEST ASTURIAN SHORT FILM €800 + Trophy

AWARD FOR THE BEST PERFORMANCE €600 + Trophy

5.- The presented short films will be free-themed, fictional, and may not exceed 25 minutes.

6.- The works presented will have been carried out after October 1, 2024.

7.- The shorts will be presented in Spanish or Asturian. If they are presented in another language, they are pronounced with subtitles in Spanish or Asturian.

8.-The short films (shot on any system) will be presented digitally through platform.

9.-The deadline to present the short films ends on September 8, 2025.

10.-The short films submitted must be accompanied by the information on the work: name, surname and DNI or NIE or ID of the author, title, duration, brief synopsis and technical and artistic data sheet.

11.-The contestants will be responsible for ensuring that there are no third-party rights to the works submitted, as well as for any claim for image rights.

12.- The organization reserves the right to exhibit the shorts during the Festival in the places or media it deems appropriate. Likewise, the possibility of screening selected short films online is contemplated, on the dates of the Festival.

13.- For the decision of the prizes and the selection of short finalists, the jury will do so based on artistic and technical criteria, taking into account their cinematographic quality, development, consistency, originality and values that they transmit. The jury will meet and agree:

-A selection of the finalist short films in number that it deems appropriate from among those submitted to the Official Section. This selection of short films will be screened during the course of the Festival, and the Award for Best Official Section Short Film will be chosen from among them.

- A selection from among the Asturian short films presented to screen Asturian Short Film Day, and the Best Asturian Short Film Award will be chosen from among them. If the jury deems it appropriate, they can include Asturian short films in the Official Section.

-The awarding of the Best Performance Award, to which the actors or actresses who act in any of the selected short films will opt.

15.-Any of the prizes may be declared void.

16.-Participation in this Festival implies acceptance of the bases, leaving the organization empowered to resolve any eventuality not provided for in them.
