International horror film festival based in the city of Guanajuato, Mexico. All festival activities are nonprofit.

Recognition.

AWARDS – The International Horror Film Festival of Guanajuato Aurora will present each participant with a Diploma. The winning short film will be screened before the last film, at the closing night of the festival.

CALLING ALL FILM MAKERS to participate in the annual International Horror Film Festival of Guanajuato “Aurora” XXI Edition - February 2026

Now accepting Short films, Feature films, and Video clips within the following GUIDELINES:

1. Film submission may be made in 35mm, 16mm, professional digital, as well as video and experimental.

2. The media should be submitted in english or Spanish or subtitled in any of these two languages, preferably Spanish.

3. 60 min - duration max.

4. Unlimited submissions per participant.

5. Submissions may be made in DVD (please send 2 copies) in NTSC or PAL system. The copies submitted will not be returned. For digital submission please visit www.festhome.com.

6. Please annex the following details in a CD: Still photo of the entry (300 dpi), synopsis of the film (english and Spanish), brief biography of the director (english and Spanish), poster or postcard (can be digital).

7. Any material submitted in prior Aurora festivals will not be accepted.

CONDITIONS

- Free registration

- Film submission deadline and registration deadline is December 31, 2025

– Time stamp will be factored in for the deadline

– All courier and postage costs are responsibility of the participant, as well as material sent like cassettes, discs, posters, photos, or others.

– The order and dates for each participating film’s screening will be decided by the Festival’s Coordinators.

– Once a film has been admitted, it may not be retrieved. The winning entries will automatically become part of the itinerant national and international film festival.

SELECTION AND JURY

- The organizing film festival committee will be responsible for selecting the jury, conformed by a group of professionals in the cinematography field. The names of the jurors will be given shortly. The jury’s decision cannot be appealed.

SCREENING

- The entries could be selected for screening outside the competition.

Awards

– The winning short film will be screened before the last film, at the closing night of the festival.
