Independent Lima International Film Festival seeks to contribute to the cultural development of Peru on an educational and artistic level through the promotion of a sustainable, diverse and innovative independent cinema

We have already completed seven uninterrupted editions and we prepare the eighth to be held from May 31 to June 9 of the year 2018. Throughout these editions LIMA INDEPENDIENTE has experienced an exponential growth both in its quality of exhibition and in the response of the public. For this INDEPENDIENT LIMA has made a decentralized festival placing the best of its programming in cities such as Cusco, Chiclayo, Arequipa, Iquitos, Huaral, among others.

LIMA INDEPENDENT INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL is a space for appreciation and dialogue that contributes to bringing the world’s best cinema to Peru.

FESTIVAL DATES:
LIMA INDEPENDENT INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL will hold its eighth edition from May 31th to June 9th
2018 in Lima and other cities of Peru.
COMPETITIVE CATEOGORIES
a) International Competition: includes fiction film, documentary, animation and any other radical proposal, produced anywhere in the wolrd (unlimited running time)
b) National Competition: includes fiction film, documentary, animation and any other radical proposal produced in peruvian territory (unlimited running time)
c) Destroyed Frontiers: includes only experimental films (unlimited running time)
d) Ibero-America Now: includes fiction film, documentary, animation and any other radical proposal produced in the territories of the Ibero-american community (unlimited running time)

GENERAL REGISTRATION BASES
a) Entries for competitions and paralell sections of LIMA INDEPENDENT INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
are open for fiction, animation, documentary and experimental, BOTH national and international films.
Only films which production year is 2017 until the deadline will be considered for participation for the eighth edition.
b) The apliccation form, the material on DVD, bluray and/or video files, as well as all the information required for the pre-selection and the signed terms and conditions, will be received until February 28, 2018.
c) For pre-selection, in each of the categories, the filmmakers can send their work in two ways:

§ By sending a link to view and/or download the film (spoken or subtitled in spanish), the press kit and signed registration form to the email convocatorialific@gmail.com
§ By sending two copies in DVD and/or Bluray format (spoken or subtitled in Spanish), the press kit and signed registration form, to the following address: Jirón Bolognesi 788 – Magdalena del Mar – L17 - Lima, Perú.
d) After accepting the invitation in one of the competitive sections, films will not be removed from the Festival’s program nor be shown at any other event in the República of Peru before its official presentation at LIMA INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL. Films that have already been previously exhibited in Peru, will not compete but could be shown as part of parallel sections. In case of being selected, the applicant must guarantee their participation and commit to supporting the Festival organization with all the necessary material for the screening (copies of films, press kit, subtitles, etc.)

SELECTION AND SCREENING COPIES
a) All shipping costs of the DVD or Bluray presented for the admissions process will be paid by the participant.
b) The submission package must include the phrase "WITHOUT COMMERCIAL VALUE. EXCLUSIVE FOR CULTURAL PURPOSES "in order to avoid customs inconveniences.
c) The organization of the Festival is not responsible for losses, deterioration or other damages of the material during the process of shipping.
d) The material received will be part of the audiovisual archive of the LIMA INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL, which may be used for promotional purposes, in exhibitions, forums, festivals, among other activities.
e) No material submitted in the selection process will be returned.
f) The sender must inform to the LIMA INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL the date of shipment and the tracking number of the package.

JURY
a) The jury will be composed of national and/or internationalpersonalities from the audiovisual media, the arts and culture. The decision they make will require a simple majority.
b) Anyone directly related to the works in competition will not be able to be part of the jury.
c) The jury’s decisions are final.
BREACH OF REQUIREMENTS
The works received that do not comply with the general conditions of participation and the pre-selection requirements will not be accepted.

ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS – ASSIGNMENT OF RIGHTS
a. Registration in the LIMA INDEPENDENT INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL implies the acceptance of these terms and conditions and the provision of the rights to screening the films, for the purpose of dissemination of this edition as well as future editions from the date of films selection.
b. The persons linked to the selected films, must not announce their participation until the Festival's programming is announced by the Organization.
c. Together with the signature of these terms and conditions, the owners of the work accept to assign the rights of projection and reproduction of the same for its exhibition in the activities related to the festival, as well as for its advertising publicity.

RIGHTS OF PARTICIPATING WORKS
a. Participants declare to be the only and real owners of the audiovisual works presented to the festival, both in case of being authors and distributors. In case of falsehood in the sworn statement, the responsibility for any claim by third parties will be exclusively of the participant who submits the work, without the festival having anything to answer to third parties.
b. The participants claim to own all productions rights.
c. The participants declare to leave the festival unharmed for any claim regarding the ownership of the work and/or lack of authorization regarding the rights contained therein.
