Is the first international film festival that celebrates female creation in all areas of the film industry. It privileges the exhibition of films by national and international women directors, as well as films by filmmakers who have, throughout history, contributed to the creation of nuanced female characters, free from stereotypes.

OFFICIAL RECOGNITIONS
The following recognitions will be given:

• Jury Award for the Best International Fiction Feature Film.
• Jury Award for the Best International Documentary Feature Film.
• Jury Award for the Best International Short.
• Jury Award for the Best Construction of a Female Character in an International Fiction Feature Film.
• Audience Award for the Best Feature Film.

Femme Revolution Film Fest invites filmmakers and/or producers of feature length and short films from all over the world to submit their films to the competitions that will take place during the festival’s second edition

1. OFFICIAL COMPETITION SECTIONS

1.1 OFFICIAL INTERNATIONAL FEATURE COMPETITION
We will consider all feature-length films (fiction and/or documentary) produced in any part of the world, with a completion year of 2019-2020 as long as they have not been previously exhibited in Mexico City, either commercially or in film festivals or public screenings and have a running time of at least 60 minutes, including credits. These features will be considered provided that their script, and/or directing, and/or lead acting is a carried out by a woman.


1.2 OFFICIAL INTERNATIONAL SHORTS COMPETITION

We will consider all short films (fiction and/or documentary) produced in any part of the world, with a completion year of 2019-2020 as long as they have a maximum running time of 40 minutes, including credits. These shorts will be considered provided that their script, and/or directing, and/or lead acting is a carried out by a woman.


In the competition sections, we will not accept films made for promotional purposes, or those that have been aired on television, distributed via DVD or Blu-Ray, or via internet.

2. OFFICIAL RECOGNITIONS
The following recognitions will be given:

• Jury Award for the Best International Fiction Feature Film.
• Jury Award for the Best International Documentary Feature Film.
• Jury Award for the Best International Short.
• Jury Award for the Best Construction of a Female Character in an International Fiction Feature Film.
• Audience Award for the Best Feature Film.

3. GUIDELINES

1.- The second edition of Femme Revolution Film Fest will take place in Mexico City from May 28th to June 4th, 2020.
2.- Reception of submissions will be open as of Thursday, October 10, 2019 and will close on Monday, January 20, 2020. No work submitted after the deadline will be considered.
3.- The selected films in the various competitive sections of the festival will be chosen by a selection committee comprised of experts within the film industry and their decisions will be final.
4.- The official results of selected films will be made public on Friday, March 6, 2020 on the festival website: www.femmerevolutionfilmfest.com as well as on festival social media accounts.
5.- The films in the competitive sections of the festival will be evaluated by a jury comprised of recognized experts in the national and international film industries and their decisions will be final.
6.- Submitted films may be invited to participate in parallel non-competitive sections of the festival.
7.- The selected films may be included in national and international exhibitions in which Femme Revolution Film Fest participates throughout 2020- 2021.
8.- All submissions assume the acceptance of the rules and requirements outlined in this call for submissions.

4. RULES AND REQUIREMENTS

4.1 OFFICIAL INTERNATIONAL FEATURE COMPETITION

1.- Register your film at Festhome www.festhome.com platforms available through Monday, January 20, 2020 at the latest.
2.- All links and passwords for the registered films must remain active from the first day of registration through June 4, 2020 at the conclusion of the festival.
3.- The selection of films will be made by a committee comprised of experts within the film industry and their decisions will be final.
4.- No films submitted after the registration deadline will be considered for inclusion in the festival.
5.-The official results of selected films will be published on the festival website: www.femmerevolutionfilmfest.com as well as on festival social media accounts on Friday, March 6, 2020.
6.-Once accepted, a film may not be withdrawn from the official selection.
7.- Under no circumstances will Femme Revolution Film Fest pay screening fees for the selected films that were submitted in the open call.
8.- The screening format of selected films must be, without exception DCP and/or Blu-Ray.
9.- The projection copies of the selected films must be subtitled in Spanish if their original language is not Spanish, and in English if their original language is Spanish.
10.- The shipping costs of the projection copies, as well as of printed promotional materials for the purpose of dissemination will be assumed by the participants.
11.- Femme Revolution Film Fest may use clips of up to one minute from the selected films for the purpose of promoting the festival in media circuits.
12.- Femme Revolution Film Fest will recognize the Best International Fiction Feature Film in competition according to the jury’s decision.
13.- Femme Revolution Film Fest will recognize the Best Construction of a Female Character according to the jury’s decision. Only films in the International Fiction Feature Film competition will be considered for this award.
14.- Femme Revolution Film Fest will recognize the Best International Documentary Feature Film in competition according to the jury’s decision.
15.-All feature films in competition (either fiction or documentary) selected at Femme Revolution Film Fest will be considered for the Audience Award.
16.- The jury will be comprised of recognized experts in the national and international film industry and their decisions will be final.
17.- The jury may award special mentions.
18.- All submissions assume the acceptance of the rules and requirements outlined in this call for submissions.

5. DISPUTES

1.- Femme Revolution Film Fest reserves the right to modify the call for submissions as necessary. We recommend checking for updates and consulting the current version on the official website.
