This edition aims to showcase the best independent Science Fiction short films from around the world.

The screenings will take place next March in Madrid.

Rules and Terms:

All submissions must comply with the Festival Rules for consideration. By entering or submitting a film to the festival, the following terms are acknowledged and accepted:

1. All works must be original creations, with the rights held by the producer/filmmaker or distribution company submitting the short film to the festival.

2. Submission fees are reduced and under no circumstances are intended for the organizers’ profit. As the festival does not receive any type of subsidy, these fees will cover guest speakers’ travel expenses, filmmakers’ accreditation, organization, and awards.

3. The submission deadline is 11:59 p.m. on February 5, 2026. No submissions will be accepted after this time.

4. Submitted films must have been completed after January 1, 2024.

5. TIME LIMITATIONS: Submitted films must not exceed 20 minutes in runtime, including titles and credits.

6. GENRE LIMITATIONS: The Festival is NOT open to all genres. All submissions MUST be considered Science Fiction (Sci-Fi), in any of its forms. Comedy, animation, drama, action, adventure, supernatural, and/or documentary are accepted as long as they are set within or related to the Sci-Fi genre.

7. Films in languages other than Spanish must include Spanish subtitles.

8. Participants must comply with the Festival’s rules and submission guidelines, or they will be disqualified. It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure all criteria are met before submitting.

9. The selection of competition works among submissions, as well as their programming during the Festival, is the sole responsibility of the Festival organizers. The Festival will notify all registered participants of the selection results individually and privately.

10. SUBMISSION COPY: Participants must provide a private or password-protected permanent screening link.

11. SCREENING COPY: Once selected, the Festival organization will privately contact participants to request the screening copy. The copy must be in digital format with a resolution no lower than 1920 x 1080. Posters, stills, and the film’s trailer will also be requested, with the participant’s express consent for their use exclusively in festival promotion. Fragments of the trailer may be used to create promotional audiovisual content.

12. If the information provided by the participant for the official section is incorrect and/or contrary to these rules, the organization may program the film out of competition.

13. Participants agree not to make their film’s competition selection public until the Festival officially announces the list of selected works.

14. By entering the Festival and submitting the film, the director and/or producer guarantees they hold all rights to the work and its contents, and grants the Festival the following non-exclusive, irrevocable licenses for COMPETITION: The Festival may select the film at its own discretion and that of its appointed jurors, and decide which entry deserves to win. The participant grants the Festival the right to screen the short film exclusively during the event. The Festival may make unlimited promotional publications using the filmmaker’s name, image, voice, likeness, as well as that of the cast and crew, their biographies, stills, and the film’s synopsis, along with any other information provided to the Festival about the cast and/or crew.

15. Works that are publicly available “online” will be automatically disqualified, as will films created for advertising purposes.

The organization reserves the right to modify the Festival dates, cancel, or partially/fully suspend screenings of selected works and related activities due to force majeure. The organization also reserves the right to amend these rules, due to force majeure or prevailing public health conditions.

Festhome holds accountable fees festivals by holding the payment of the fees of most newer festivals until they have viewed the submissions, held their festivals and other methods.
