CALL FOR ENTRIES AND RULES FOR THE 12TH HUÁNUCO FILM FESTIVAL 2025
ACAS HUÁNUCO E.I.R.L., together with its Cultural Association "Amigos por Siempre" (Friends Forever), a Cultural Center with Royal Decree 0143-2020/MC, announces the 12th Huánuco Film Festival 2025 (FENACI 25). The event will take place in open spaces (streets, parks, and main squares), as well as in various provinces of the department of Huánuco, and will be broadcast live on our social media channels.
Glass trophies in high relief, with the inscription of the name of the festival, together with the logos of the organizers and the Ministry of Culture of Peru and for the winners of the international guests, the diplomas or their equivalents will bear the same logos plus the seal and the signature of the festival organizers.
1. OBJECTIVES The Huánuco Film Festival aims to disseminate, promote, and educate about Peruvian cinema and the audiovisual industry in general, both in Latin America and Europe, by hosting the meeting of its various professional sectors and promoting its national and international development to achieve these objectives. The Huánuco Film Festival will hold its 12th edition from December 8 to 12, 2025.
2. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION Films in competition must meet the following requirements:
2.1. OFFICIAL SECTION OF FEATURE FILMS IN RELEASE - APPRECI AWARD All films that have not been released in commercial or alternative theaters may participate. They will be accepted in the following categories: national fiction, regional, and national documentary. Films must be over 75 minutes long.
2.2. OFFICIAL SECTION OF FEATURE FILMS ALREADY RELEASED All films with a running time of over 75 minutes that have not been released in commercial theaters in the Huánuco region may participate. These films, in turn, are in the following subcategories: national and regional fiction, and national documentary. Their production year must not be older than two years.
2.3. OFFICIAL SELECTION OF FEATURE FILMS MADE BY WOMEN Films made by women from all over the country can be submitted; their year of commercial or alternative release does not count. In addition, this selection is to recognize the work of women in cinema. Therefore, all films in this category will receive a statuette of the Negritos de Huánuco plus a diploma or certificate.
2.4. OFFICIAL SECTION OF PREMIERE SHORT FILMS Only short films that have not been part of other festivals may participate, and these will be entered into the following categories: - National Short Films (Fiction, Documentary, and Animation) - University Short Films (Fiction, Documentary, and Animation)
2.5 OFFICIAL SELECTION OF SHORT FILMS MADE BY HUANÑO PEOPLE Short films made by Huanìque residents may participate. Short films may be made by Huanìque residents, whose works may be made anywhere in Peru or abroad and are classified into the following subcategories: fiction, documentary, and animation. The films must not be older than 5 years.
2.6. OFFICIAL SECTION OF MUSIC ART VIDEOS FROM HUANì. All people dedicated to the art of music in its different genres, with a video clip of no more than 8 minutes, may participate.
2.7. OFFICIAL SHORT FILM SELECTION: CINEMA GOES TO SCHOOL. All Peruvian film projects focused on school cinema are eligible to apply. The films must be no more than 15 minutes long and must have been in production for no more than two years.

2.9. OFFICIAL INTERNATIONAL SHORT FILMS SECTION All interested international short films, whether fiction, documentary, or animation, that are no more than two years old and must be no more than 10 minutes in length, may participate. prizes will be awarded with diplomas or their equivalent.
2.10. OFFICIAL INTERNATIONAL FEATURE FILMS SELECTION This category will be a gala selection, as the competing feature films will be nominated by the various embassies in Peru. Their length will be no less than 75 minutes, and their production or execution will be no more than two years old. However, all those interested in participating in the festival may also apply.
2.11. OFFICIAL UNIVERSITY SHORT FILMS SECTION All short films from all universities in Peru, with a maximum length of 30 minutes and no more than two years old, may participate. They will be divided into subcategories.
2.12. OFFICIAL SHORT FILM SECTION FOR DISSEMINATION ON FENACI TV (FB, YOUTUBE) All short films with a maximum running time of 30 minutes (Documentary, Fiction, Animation) are eligible to participate. They will be divided into subcategories (animation, fiction, and documentary).
