International festival of fiction short feature films.

Geldpreise: 2,950€

- Best Short Film Award: 1200€ and a trophy.

- Best Acting Award: 600€ and a trophy.

- Murchante Award, Best Local Short Film: 300€
and a trophy.

- Audience Choice Award: 300 € and a trophy.

- Best Children Local Shortfilm (Colegio Murchante): Trophy and prizes valued at 150
euros.

THE COMPETITION:

The competition is organised by Asociación Marte. The First Edition of the Murchante International Short Film Festival (CICOM) will be held in Murchante from September 28th to October 03rd May 2026. The festival aims to become an annual event which encourages filmmaking and promotes cinematographic culture through short films.

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

- All national and international short films shot on traditional film (35 mm o 16 mm) or digital video will be admitted.

- The festival is open to all fiction short films covering any topic.

- Short films need to be 20 minutes or less (credits included).

- Works produced after January, 1st 2024 may be submitted.

TERMS OF SUBMISSION:

- Each entrant may enter as many short films as desired.

- Work will be submitted using one of these platforms: Festhome.

- If your work is selected for the contest, you will be asked to submit a copy of your short film (or a downloadable link) in Full HD, 2K or 4K quality.

- Works will be submitted in their original languages. If it wasn’t Spanish, it will need to include Spanish subtitles.

- The submission deadline is august, 20th 2026.

- We will only select films that have not previously been selected or awarded before in CICOM.

- Selected short films will be chosen by the members of the Jury among all the work submitted.


SCREENING & awards:

The shortlist will be shown in a movie theater at Casa de Cultura (Murchante).

Awards:

- Best Short Film Award: 1200€ and a trophy.

- Best Acting Award: 600€ and a trophy.

- Special Jury Award: 400€ and a trophy.

- Murchante Award, Best Local Short Film: 300€ and a trophy.

- Audience Choice Award: 300 € and a trophy.

- Best Children Local Shortfilm (Colegio Murchante): Trophy and prizes valued at 150
euros.

- Cash awards are subject to the tax withholding established by law.


JURY:

- A qualified Jury wiil review the selected Short Films. Their decissions are not subject to appeal.

Their decissions will be notified to the selected contestants and will be published on our social
media and different media the organization will decide.

- The Jury will decide on giving the awards and trophies after reviewing all the selected Short
Films for the festival. The jury will award any remarkable features observed on the films.


SHORT FILMS & RETURNS:

- A copy of each selected Short Film will become part of the Festival’s archive.

- When submitting a physical film, it will be the producer’s or director’s responsability to collect it at the end of the festival. Otherwise, those short films will become part of our archive.


COPYRIGHT:

- The selected participants authorise the organisation to screen their short films during the Festival and waive the royalties they could receive for it. Moreover, the Festival may use fragments of the selected works for their dissemination in any media in order to promote the Festival in the press and other media,

- The short films will be only showcased at the screenings during the festival. They will never be shown in other media or platforms.

- By submitting an entry into this project, each entrant warrants and represents that the entrant owns all rights to the entry he/she is entering in this festival, including, without limitation, the video or digital recording, music and the performance contained in each entry. In any case, the organisation of the Festival, Asociación Marte and Murchante Council are exempted of any responsabilty that could derive from the infraction of this rule.

- Any particular issues not considered on these terms, will be solved by the organsation of the festival.
