International queer film festival Merlinka is organized every year from 2009 in Belgrade Serbia.

For five days we screen short, documentary and featured LGBT-themed films.

Only gay, lesbian, bisexual, trangender, transsexual-themed films.

The 17th International queer film festival “Merlinka” will be taking place from 11-15 December 2024 in Yugoslav Cinematheque in Belgrade

The main competition program of the festival will present only short queer films from all over the world produced in 2023 and 2025 (with possible exceptions). The festival’s main program will be accompanied by three side programs: Queer documentaries, Queer Featured films and Retrospective. The main focus of this year’s festival will be the force that motivates LGBT people to continuously work on improving lives of other LGBT people through politics, activism, art, media…, but this is not mandatory for official selection.

We invite film authors, as well as film arts students, to submit their films. The content of films submitted should be compatible with the festival’s framework (must be LGBTIQ-themed). Submission deadline is September 1, 2025.
