CineFem, the First International Women's Film Festival of Uruguay, whose first edition was held in Salto (Uruguay) but that from then on was permanently developed in Punta del Este, is a space to reflect on the role of women in cinema and in our society. CineFem, the woman's view.

1.- The XIV International Women's Film Festival, CINEFEM, announces the Short and Feature Film Competition, with the objective of stimulating and disseminating the production of films made by women and/or linked to women's issues, within the South American continent and the rest of the world.

2.- They must have been made on or after January 1st, 2024 and in the following categories: fiction, documentary and animation. The maximum length accepted per work will be 15 minutes for short films and 100 minutes for feature films. The films may not have been screened in previous editions of the festival and priority will be given to those that are national or regional premieres.

3.- The films may have been produced in any film or digital format, but must be submitted for exhibition in the following formats: H264 1920x1080-stéreo file or similar (MOV, MKV, MP4, AVI).

4.- In the case of films that are not originally in Spanish, they must come with embedded subtitles in Spanish or accompanied by SRT file with the time code in order to be translated into Spanish (EXCLUDING REQUIREMENT).

5.- The deadline for the reception of the materials is August 12ve, 2026.

6.- An international jury of three members will discern the awards in the different categories, and its decision will be final.

7.- The festival will try to provide facilities for the presence of the filmmakers of the selected films during the festival, but the acceptance of the work does not imply the granting of an invitation with airfare and lodging, which must be paid by the participant.

8.- The inscription of the film in the festival implies the tacit acceptance of these rules. Any unforeseen event not established in these Rules and Regulations, or arising during the Festival, will be interpreted and resolved solely and exclusively by the Organizing Committee, and will not give rise to any subsequent claim. THE FESTIVAL DOES NOT PAY EXHIBITION FEES. It is a purely cultural event and counts with the help of several volunteers.
