Rules and Guidelines
Filmmaker Categories

For fairness in the competition and also the effectiveness of our judging we have separated our competition into 2 categories. For both categories there are no age limit and films can be submitted as an individual or teamwork.

Professional Category

Contestants that have previous experience in filmmaking, are professional filmmakers, and are confident in producing a finished piece without any technical assistance.

General Category

Anyone who is interested in telling their stories without any prior or very little experience in filmmaking. Contestants in this category can submit a finished film or if requiring assistance, we will be providing mentoring support and also funding support for successful candidates whose initial plot ideas have been reviewed and selected by CCCL panel of judges.

Film must be related to the human and ecological impact of climate change indicating a possible way to mitigate or adapt to the threat. We seek to create a template to inspire and encourage others around the world to follow our example and launch their own climate change film festivals.

Examples : coral restoration, eco-camp, wildlife preservation, water or forest conservation, disaster prevention, renewable energy, climate-proof transport/housing, climate-resilient farming, sustainable fishing, green business, community mitigation or adaptation measures, beach clean-up etc.
