Final Girls Chile - Festival de Cine Fantástico ()

We are Final Girls Chile, a film festival dedicated to celebrate women in fantastic films, recognizing their work both in front of and behind the camera.

Inspired by our sisters from the Final Girls Berlin Film Festival, we created this new film festival with the purpose of showcasing fiction, animated, documentary and experimental short and feature films. Submissions are open for our first online edition.

In addition to screenings, we encourage the gathering between filmmakers and horror film audiences through Q&A and workshops, among other activities.

We invite women, trans and non-binary filmmakers and horror fans from all over the world to be part of this witches' Sabbath!

1. We accept all films belonging to the following genres: Horror, Science Fiction, Thriller, Fantasy and beyond - but they must be directed, produced or written by a woman, trans, or non-binary filmmaker.

2. Feature films must be longer than 60 minutes. Short films must last a maximum of 20 minutes. Work In Progress submissions are open both for short and feature films. They must be in Full HD, 1080p format. For international films, Spanish subtitles are required.

3. The films will be evaluated by the Festival’s Programming team. To submit your film, please use the platform Festhome. You must also attach the technical information of the film, horizontal and vertical film posters (300DPI) and a maximum 5-line synopsis.

4. The deadline for submissions is August 31, 2020.

5. We don’t require any submission fee, via Festhome.

6. We will contact the filmmakers of the selected films. If you are able to participate in the event, please confirm your attendance to the festival crew.

7. In case of acceptance, the producers or distributors who hold the exhibition rights of the films should grant the license to the festival's organizing team during the time the festival takes place.

8. We will schedule further screenings after the festival date, but the participation of each short or feature film will be subject to the authorization of the holders of their exhibition rights.

9. The Festival reserves the right to select the participating films, determine in which section each one will go and establish the order, date and time of the screening. Once the selection is announced, the films cannot be withdrawn.

10. Due to the health situation given by COVID-19, this year we will carry out an online version of the Festival, in which the selected works will be screened only once on a safe platform, and our international jury will determine the winners. However, we are going to programme a special COVID section with the selected films in the Festival event that will take place during 2021, in order to screen these works in front of an audience.

11. Any unforeseen event not established in these Submission Terms, will be evaluated and solved solely and exclusively by Final Girls Chile, without any type of subsequent claim.
