The Ciak Film Award is an International Film Festival dedicated to Short Films lasting no more than 40 minutes, of any theme done in an original or surprising way, structured in three categories:

NARRATIVE SHORT FILMS

DOCUMENTARIES

MUSIC VIDEOS

The Short Films are selected by an internal jury and screened in a Theater in one of Rome's most characteristic areas: the Teatro Trastevere.

The first inaugural edition took place on June 7, 2025, and we are now working to prepare the 2026 edition, which will also take place in June.

Three Winners will be selected from all submitted Short Films :

Best Narrative Short
Best Documentary Short
Best Music Video

The Directors will receive the Official Ciak Film Award Plaque directly at the screening at the Teatro Trastevere in Rome.

Works of any genre and theme can be submitted, with a duration no longer than 40 minutes, including credits for all categories;

There are no limits on the date the work was completed, and no première status is required;

Works may be submitted in any language, but subtitles in Italian and/or English, if the language is different, must be provided;

The applicant declares that the soundtrack is free of copyright and that all contents are legal, releasing the "Ciak Film Award" from any claims of any kind related to intellectual property;

The jury's decisions are final and no feedback is provided on the jury's decisions;

The official price for each submitted work is $5. Exemption codes are not available. Entry fees are non-refundable in the event of errors by the submitter or if the work is not selected;

By submitting work to this festival, the submitter accepts all the terms of this regulation, and the Court of Rome is competent for any dispute.
