ASUFICC - International Contemporary Film Festival of Asuncion is an event born with the aim of bringing contemporary cinema from around the world, through unique authors with works that take risks and invite reflection. Emphasizing social issues that empathize with the Asuncion and Paraguayan society, it seeks, through a program of cinematographic excellence, to form spectators with greater sensitivity and greater awareness of the cinematic experience and the problems of society. Likewise, it seeks to be a space for meeting and promotion of national creators.

REGULATIONS COMPETITIONS
ASUFICC 2025
1. ASUFICC - International Contemporary Film Festival of Asuncion is an event born with the aim of bringing contemporary cinema from around the world, through unique authors with works that take risks and invite reflection.
Emphasizing social issues that empathize with the Asuncion and Paraguayan society, it seeks, through a program of cinematographic excellence, to form spectators with greater sensitivity and greater awareness of the cinematic experience and the problems of society. Likewise, it seeks to be a space for meeting and promotion of national creators.
2. CALL FOR ENTRIES
ASUFICC calls for applications for works made since 2024, which have not been commercially released in Paraguay.
The categories in competition are:
International Feature Film Competition: works completed since 2024, with a minimum duration of 60 minutes, spoken or subtitled in Spanish. Fiction, documentary, animation and/or experimental films of any nationality are accepted.
International Short Film Competition: works completed since 2024, with a maximum duration of 30 minutes, spoken or subtitled in Spanish. Fiction, documentary, animation and/or experimental short films of any nationality are accepted.
Paraguayan Short Film Competition: works completed since 2024, with a maximum duration of 30 minutes, spoken or subtitled in Spanish. Fiction, documentary, animation and/or experimental short films produced in Paraguay are accepted.
3. APPLICATION
Applications can be made by completing the registration form available on the festival oficial website, www.asuficc.com, or through the online platform Festhome. The deadline to submit works for this edition is june 1st, 2025.
Only works duly registered within the deadline will be accepted.
4. SELECTION
The works submitted will be evaluated by the ASUFICC programming team. The decisions of the programming team are final.
Once the screening and selection process is concluded, the decision of their inclusion in this edition will be communicated to whoever holds the exhibition rights of the works. The
communication will be made during the month of August.
Those who have not been selected will not be notified.
The programming team reserves the right to select and invite nominated works to participate in other sections of the festival.
The final selection will be communicated and published during the month of september on the festival official website and social networks.
5. EXHIBITION COPIES
The selected films must be available for exhibition in digital file in one of the following formats:
.mov / mp4 file
Apple Prores file
Spanish subtitles must be included in case the film is spoken in another language.
6. EXHIBITION
The selected works will be exhibited during the fourth edition of ASUFICC, to be held from october 7th to 12th 2025, according to the festival program schedule.
The screenings will be held onsite in Asunción.
7. VENUES
The festival will be held at the Centro Cultural del Puerto, Cultural Center Juan de Salazar, Sala Moliere of the Alianza Francesa and the Paraguayan American Cultural Center.
8. Awards
Each competition will have a jury composed of three people linked to the audiovisual and cultural area.
The jurors will have a deliberation meeting after watching the program corresponding to their competition to determine the awards.
The jurors will be in charge of deciding the awards for this edition:
Best film in the International Feature Film Competition.
Best work in the International Short Film Competition.
Best work in the Paraguayan Short Film Competition.
They may also award up to two honorable mentions if they deem it appropriate.
The jury will not be able to issue public opinions on the works until the announcement of the awards. Their decision will be final.
9. RECOGNITION
The Festival will award the winners with the ASUFICC statuette, which identifies the Festival.
10. ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES
By submitting a work to the Festival, the applicants authorize the use of excerpts and/or the trailer of the film, as well as images (stills), for communication and promotion purposes of the event.
It will be considered that the person who enters a work holds the exhibition rights over it.

Podrán participar obras concluidas desde 2024, con una duración máxima de 30 minutos, habladas o subtituladas en español. Se aceptan cortometrajes de ficción, documental, animación y/o experimental, de producción paraguaya. Se privilegiarán cortometrajes cuyo estreno nacional sea en el marco del festival.
