4th Puno Film Festival - Hanan Cine: "We All Make Cinema"

The 4th Hanan Cine Festival is organized and promoted by the Puno Audiovisual Cultural Association, an initiative that aims to strengthen film production and diversification in the Puno region and nationally, while also establishing ties with neighboring Latin American countries.

In its fourth edition, the festival seeks to lay the foundations for an internationally recognized event, entering the important circuit of Andean Mountain festivals, and thus fostering the growth of emerging filmmakers.

Hanan Cine has become a space for filmmakers, critics, programmers, spectators, and, most importantly, new audiences to come together. Through decentralized activities and inclusive proposals, this great collective project continues to expand.

From Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, Hanan Cine will take place from December 7 to 14, 2024, in person, with virtual activities allowing audiences from various parts of the world to participate, reaffirming that cinema is a collective creation in which everyone can take part.

● The jury may award special prizes and/or honorable mentions at their discretion in the different categories.
In the Best Regional Short Film category, the jury may award special prizes and/or honorable mentions to the best university short film, if applicable.

I. GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS:

All submitted works must comply with the provisions outlined in the rules of the 4th Hanan Cine Festival. Additionally, the submitted works must have been completed after January 1, 2022.

SHORT FILMS: Works considered short films are of free theme and must have a maximum duration of 30 minutes, including both fiction and non-fiction in the same category.

FEATURE FILMS: Participating feature films are of free theme and must have a minimum duration of 60 minutes, including both fiction and non-fiction in the same category.

II. Deadlines FOR SUBMISSION

Audiovisual works will be accepted until November 15, 2024. If deemed necessary by the festival's organizing committee, this date may be extended.

Works that meet the rules and terms will be evaluated by the Festival Programming Committee.

THE OFFICIAL SELECTION

The Official Selection will be announced through the festival's main digital platforms on November 23, 2024.

Once the Official Selection is announced, the project representatives will be contacted via the email they provided to confirm their participation and selection, as well as to provide the corresponding laurel.

● Once a film is selected by the festival for any of the categories, it cannot be withdrawn.

IV. FINAL CONSIDERATIONS:

● From the selected works, the best work in each category, both fiction and non-fiction, will be awarded, as outlined in the rules.

V. WINNERS

Once the winners of each category are announced, the representatives of the works will be contacted to arrange the delivery of the awards and respective laurels.

Programming and Screening Rights:

● The films and visual materials submitted, as well as those included in the Official Selection of the festival, may be used for promotion, programming, and screenings within the framework of the festival's itinerant showcases. They will be used strictly for promotional purposes or non-profit social-cultural activities directly involving the Hanan Cine Festival and the Puno Audiovisual Cultural Association.

● The screening of submitted works, as well as those included in the Official Selection of the festival, will be in-person and communicated in advance to the representatives of the work.

● Awarded projects must incorporate the festival's laurel in subsequent screenings and complementary materials as required.

- Storyline or short synopsis

- Year of production
- City and country of origin
- Original language
- If the work has subtitles (Include them)
