5th Cineteca Veracruz Showcase

CALL FOR ENTRIES

The civil association Cineteca Veracruz invites Mexican and international filmmakers to submit their cinematic works to the different non-competitive sections of the Fifth Cineteca Veracruz Showcase, which will take place during October and November 2026.

Submission period: March 2 to June 12, 2026
Selection notification: July 20, 2026

Non-Competitive Sections

Veracruz Cinema

All Veracruz-based, national, and international filmmakers are invited to participate in this section with films that maintain a thematic or conceptual connection to the territory of Veracruz. Submissions must be short films (between 5 and 30 minutes in length), either fiction or non-fiction.

Mexican Short Film

All filmmakers of Mexican nationality are invited to participate in this section with short films (between 5 and 30 minutes in length), either fiction or non-fiction.

Mexican Feature Film

All filmmakers of Mexican nationality are invited to participate in this section with feature films (between 60 and 120 minutes in length), either fiction or non-fiction.

International Feature Film

Filmmakers of any nationality are invited to participate in this section with feature films (between 60 and 120 minutes in length), either fiction or non-fiction.

Animation Special

Filmmakers of any nationality are invited to participate in this section with animated short films (between 5 and 30 minutes in length), either fiction or non-fiction.

Certificates of participation will be delivered to the selected filmmakers.

Guidelines

1.The Fifth Cineteca Veracruz Showcase will take place in the cities of Veracruz, Boca del Río, and Xalapa, in the state of Veracruz, during October and November 2026.

2.The Fifth Cineteca Veracruz Showcase is composed of five non-competitive sections: Veracruz Cinema, Mexican Short Film, Mexican Feature Film, International Feature Film, and Animation Special.

3.The films participating in each section will be selected by a selection committee belonging to the civil association Cineteca Veracruz. The committee’s decision shall be final and not subject to appeal.

4.For submission purposes, short films are considered works with a running time between 3 and 30 minutes; feature films are considered works with a running time between 60 and 120 minutes.

5.Those interested in participating must carefully read the call for entries and submit their materials according to the specifications indicated on the “Festhome” platform. This will be the only method for registering and submitting materials to participate in the showcase.

6.The selected films that will make up the Fifth Cineteca Veracruz Showcase will be notified through the official platform no later than July 20, 2026.

7.Films selected to participate in the Fifth Cineteca Veracruz Showcase must confirm their participation by signing the authorization form and sending the requested materials no later than August 7, 2025; otherwise, they will be excluded from the program.

8.In the case of films whose original language is different from Spanish, they must be subtitled in English for submission and review purposes; if selected, they must be sent accompanied by SRT subtitle files for screening.

9.In all cases, the required format for submission materials and for the screening of selected films will be a Full HD digital compressed file.
