Participation in the 4th Piñel de Arriba Short Film Competition is open to all who wish to participate and who submit their work within the parameters described below:

1. The THEME is OPEN, although the inclusion of the rural world in the plot or as a setting will be positively valued.

2. The genre can be FICTION or ANIMATION.

3. Priority will be given to works that can be aimed at ALL AUDIENCES.

4. Submitted works must have a maximum estimated duration of 15 MINUTES, including credits.

5. The audio may NOT contain DIALOGUES OR MONOLOGUES.

6. MUSIC, SOUND EFFECTS, and AMBIENT SOUND ARE PERMITTED.

7. Any reference in a language other than SPANISH must be SUBTITLED in Spanish.

8. Participation in the competition is OPEN, and any AMATEUR or PROFESSIONAL of any NATIONALITY may participate.

9. There are no AGE limits, either upper or lower. However, all works submitted by a minor must be accompanied by the corresponding authorization form from a legal guardian.

10. Submitted works must not have been completed before JANUARY 1, 2020.

11. Each author may submit a MAXIMUM of 2 WORKS.

12. The format in which the works are submitted, regardless of the equipment used for recording, must be compatible with the playback systems available to the organizers of the Competition. A standard codec, such as h264, is recommended. Works that cannot be viewed for technical reasons will be automatically excluded from the selection.

13. The final copy of the work, along with the registration form, must be uploaded via any file transfer platform (Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer, etc.), sending a link to cortospineldearriba@gmail.com, or alternatively, a link to the Vimeo channel where the work is hosted, with the download option enabled. The organizers are not responsible for the incorrect or non-receipt of the materials.

14. Each submitted work must include the duly completed registration form. This form can be found at: https://cortospineldearriba.com/ficha_de_inscripcion/. If any of the provided information is found to be false, the submission will be automatically disqualified.

15. The production company or director of each short film must own or possess the RIGHTS TO THE submitted WORK, including image and sound rights, and will be responsible for any claims that may arise in this regard.

16. The submission period will run from April 13 to May 31, 2026, inclusive. Any work received before or after the established period will not be considered.

17. The competition with the selected works will take place in Piñel de Arriba, province of Valladolid, between August 14 and 16, 2026.

18. A jury, composed of the competition organizers and other individuals directly involved in the audiovisual world, culture, and art, will be responsible for selecting a maximum of 14 finalist works and one winning work, which will be publicly screened in a venue equipped for viewing, during the dates proposed for the competition. The authors of the selected works will be notified of the location, date, and time of their screening.

19. No exhibition fees will be paid for the selected works.

20. Works that have been part of the official selection in previous editions of this competition will not be accepted. Yes, those who submitted their application but were not admitted in PREVIOUS EDITIONS will be able to apply again.
