Cine Minhocão screens short films, with free admission, at Elevado João Goulart (Minhocão), a public road that is open to people like an outdoor park, in São Paulo, Brazil. We bring cinema to this unexpected place, to encourage socializing and the occupation of the city's space.

We have showcased more than 60 shorts from more than 20 countries since 2019, and held screenings in partnership with Cine Janela, Kinoforum International Short Film Festival, Mostra Mosca and Mostra de Cinemas Africanos.

⭐ We're looking for appealing shorts of all kinds to exhibit in 2024 in competitive screenings!

⭐ International and Brazillian short films, made in 2022 and 2023, with up to 20 minutes in length, which can be live action, animation, fiction, documentary or experimental.

Entries are open until December 10!
Screenings will be held in April and May 2024.

Four short films will be awarded the Cine Minhocão Trophy:

⭐ Best Brazilian Short - Audience Choice
⭐ Best Brazilian Short - Jury's Choice
⭐ Best International Short - Audience Choice
⭐ Best International Short - Jury's Choice

The Audience Choice will be defined through in person voting in the screenings.

The Jury will be formed by 3 audiovisual professionals.

Free submissions, and all screenings will have free admission.

Requirements

- ☑️ Short films from all countries
- ☑️ length up to 20 minutes
- ☑️ Made in 2022 and 2023
- ☑️ Content Rating: All Ages [G] up to 13 years old [PG-13]. SHORT FILMS RATED R (RESTRICTED), M (MATURE), NC-17 (NO CHILDREN UNDER 17) ARE NOT ELEGIBLE
- ☑️ subtitles in text file format (SRT) in Portuguese or english are required (not burned).

The responsible for the submission ensures to hold the rights and authorize the screening of the short film at Cine Minhocão, without charging screening fees.
