The Horror in Banfield International Film Festival was born with the central idea of spreading and promoting independent horror genre films and at the same time with the intention of creating a space for cultural exchange among horror lovers.

In this edition 2025 we inaugurate the section bizzarra for all the pearls that do not belong purely and exclusively to the field of horror.

Horror in Banfield is a space for the screening of films, short films and video clips as well as a meeting point to enjoy a comprehensive experience that includes directors, actors, producers, students and lovers of horror culture.

The selected films will be part of the official competition in the following categories.

Terms and conditions

Only audiovisual works in the format of short or feature films (fiction or documentary) of the horror genre in any of its subgenres: slasher, gore, suspense, thriller, action, adventure, fantasy and science fiction.

Any shipping costs are to be paid by the participants, the festival will not pay any fee for the screening.

The festival will not pay any fee for sending copies or screening rights.

The production date of the audiovisual work must be no earlier than January 2022.

If the audiovisual work is not spoken in Spanish, the corresponding subtitle in Spanish must be provided by means of an .srt file.

If selected, the material will be sent virtually through a download link via google drive (or similar system, with no expiry date for the material). Those selected will be informed of the deadline for sending the screening copy. If the copy is not delivered within the requested date, the organisation may decide to cancel the selection.

The deadline for applications is 11 July 2025.

The festival reserves the right to make unforeseen changes to the date.

The date and time of each screening will be defined by the organisers.

The material will be delivered in FHD 1080p or UHD 3840x2160p format.

The screening of the selected works will be in person and in digital format.

The participants, owners and/or representatives of the selected audiovisual piece cede the rights of its exhibition to the festival "Horror in Banfield", and consider themselves responsible for having the corresponding permissions for the projection of the material they send.

Festival Horror en Banfield is not responsible for any kind of responsibility or eventual damage. Festival Horror en Banfield is not responsible for any inconvenience derived from the potential breach of any legal norm that affects the rights and/or the reproduction of the audiovisual piece.

Festival Horror en Banfield undertakes to make use of the material sent only for purposes inherent to the promotion and/or dissemination of the festival as well as to screen the selected material in a responsible manner and only within the framework of the festival at a date and time duly informed to the owners and/or representatives of the selected audiovisual piece.

Participation in the call for entries implies acceptance of these terms and conditions. Any matter arising during the festival that is not covered in this document will be decided by the festival organisers.

The announcement of the winners will be made at the close of the festival. It will be published on our social networks and the winners of each category will be notified by email together with their diploma in digital format.

The festival will take place in the city of Banfield in October 2025. Initial date 2th, 3th, 4th and 5th with the possibility of modification in case of any eventuality.
