Organizers

The Senigallia Film Festival (formerly Corto Circuito Cinema Festival), now in its

Italian Short Film Competition:

The Senigallia Film Festival, chaired by Giancarlo Zappoli, aims to discover new cinematic talents with particular attention to short films (and their authors) and a specific section relating to short films made in Marche.

The Festival aims to promote and seek new perspectives, opening up to different visions of cinema.

The Festival is divided into nine sections, namely:

• 60 second prize

The 60 Seconds Award is dedicated to short films that are exactly one minute long, including titles.

The theme is free. The short film must have been produced no earlier than January 1, 2019.

The short film that wins the 60 seconds Award, as specified later in the awards paragraph, will be used as the official theme song for this edition of the Senigallia Film Festival.

• Rivers/Seas Award

All short films that include the presence of a river or sea within them, either as a scenographic or narrative element, or as the actual protagonist, are admitted to the Rivers/Seas Award section.

The theme of the short film is free, as is the genre: you can participate with documentaries, fiction, or experimental films.

The duration must be between 2 and 30 minutes, including titles.

The short film must have been produced no earlier than January 1, 2019.

• Short Circuit Award

The Corto Circuito Award is dedicated to short films lasting between 2 and 20 minutes, having a narrative structure that undergoes an upheaval of the action, a sudden plot twist that arouses dismay, surprise and disbelief in the viewer. As the title suggests, there must be at a certain point in the story a real short circuit that shocks the viewer by taking him by surprise.

The short circuit may be found in the narrative structure (the classic plot twist) as well as in other less conventional elements: unexpected and inadequate music that accompanies the scene, completely out of place characters that fall into the middle of the scenography, and so on, provided which, once introduced, remains until the end of the short film.

In other words: films that at a certain point break without the possibility of being fixed will be rewarded.

Theme and genre are free. The short film must have been produced no earlier than January 1, 2019.

• Trailer Award

Trailers of Italian feature films released during the year 2021 or 2022 are eligible to participate, without distinction of duration and genre.

• Best Short Film Award

The Best Short Film Award is dedicated to short films lasting between 2 and 20 minutes, of any genre (fiction, animation, documentary...)

• Diploma Award

The Diploma Award is dedicated to the valorisation of the works created by students as exam evidence. Short films lasting between 2 and 20 minutes.

• Genius Loci Award

The Genius Loci Award is dedicated to short films lasting between 2 and 20 minutes, of MADE IN MARCHE production of any genre (fiction, animation, documentary...).

• Comedy Award

The Comedy Award is dedicated to short films lasting between 2 and 20 minutes, in the comedy or absurd genre.

The Best International Short Film is dedicated to short films with a duration between 2 and 20 minutes, of any genre (fiction, animation, documentary...) not produced in Italy; english subtitles are mandatory
