PASTURAS, International Film Festival on Pastoralism and Transhumance

INTRODUCTION

PASTURAS aims at raising awareness on the ancestral culture of transhumance through cinema, showcasing fiction and nonfiction films focused on the issue, facilitating communication between filmmakers and the audience, providing learning opportunities to contribute to the continuation of this culture, and promoting all audiovisual work around transhumance.

RULES & REGULATIONS

1. SELECTION PROCESS:

Submission Requirements

Registration fee: registration is free of charge
Eligible films: from anywhere in the world, fiction or nonfiction, feature-length (runtime ≥ 40 minutes) and short films (runtime < 40 minutes). Must deal with transhumance or pastoralism.

For your film to be included in the selection process of this second edition of PASTURAS, you must register it and fill out the entry form provided on FESTHOME (www.festhome.com) by April 14, 2025.

When submitting your film, you acknowledge that you accept these Rules & Regulations, together with any annexes that might be included.

Only films completed after January 1, 2020 will be considered.

2. REQUIREMENTS FOR SELECTED FILMS. Production/distribution companies must send a private and/or password protected high quality streaming link of the film.

3. SELECTED FILMS. OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Once the production/distribution company that submitted the film has been notified of its selection by the festival organization and confirmation of participation is received, the selected film cannot be withdrawn from PASTURAS.

4. FESTIVAL PROGRAMMING SCHEDULE AND EXHIBITION RIGHTS
During the festival, the organization reserves the right to screen each selected film to the public at least once. Those who submit a film for selection must guarantee that they have the rights allowing for this film to be screened in the framework of PASTURAS at no cost, and that no screening fees will be charged to the Festival’s organization.

The festival organization reserves the right to include a copy of the winning films in the festival’s video library, only for cultural, non-profitable uses.

5. FILMS VERSIONS
All film screening copies to be exhibited in the different categories of the Festival will be presented in their original version. Films in a language other than Spanish, must have Spanish subtitles at the time submitted.

6. SCREENING FORMATS
Production/distribution companies or representatives of selected films must guarantee that the submitted film copy works properly (audio/video sync, color, etc.). The Festival organization reserves the right to reject copies that, upon technical testing, are found to be unfit for their screening. A technical report will be sent to the film’s production company and a new copy will be requested. The Festival organization will not be responsible for returning screening copies sent via physical mail.

7. CATALOG AND DOCUMENTATION
All the film documentation and materials required for the Festival’s official catalog, program and web page (synopsis, bio-filmography, artistic and technical specifications, director’s photograph and film poster, trailer and other audiovisual material) will be taken from the film’s entry form, which must have been fully filled out by the deadline stipulated in point 1, above.
In case any additional material were deemed necessary, the Festival organization will notify film representatives, providing a due date.


8. PRESS KIT
If necessary, the Festival organization will contact the selected films production/distribution companies, to oversee the information and material (included in the film’s entry form) that will be accessed by the media and authorized professionals.

When confirming the film's participation in PASTURAS, the production/distribution companies of those selected films, give the Festival permission to use one or several small fragments of the film to promote it on any media outlet.

9. ADDITIONAL PROVISIONS
If the Festival Management considered it necessary, the present Rules & Regulations could be modified or complemented through annexes prior to the beginning of the second edition of PASTURAS, International Film Festival on Pastoralism and Transhumance, and after having notified the interested parties. Any doubts arising from the interpretation of these Rules & Regulations will be solved by the PASTURAS Management.
