The INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL VILLA DE LEDESMA is a cultural event that seeks to become the most important event of the year in the north of Salamanca.

The aim of the Festival is to bring the rural scene to the big screen and to bring back to prominence those towns and villages that enjoyed splendour in times gone by.

The current rural situation and the now known as Empty Spain are the main concerns for the Festival, which offers itself as a means of communication to make these regions known and popular again in order to achieve a change of trend.

Cash Prizes: 9,000€

· VERRACO DE PIEDRA Award for BEST FICTION FEATURE FILM, endowed with 3,000 euros.

· VERRACO DE PIEDRA Award for BEST FICTION SHORT FILM, endowed with 1,500 euros.

· VERRACO DE PIEDRA Award for BEST DOCUMENTARY FEATURE FILM, endowed with 3,000 euros.

· VERRACO DE PIEDRA Award for BEST DOCUMENTARY SHORT FILM, endowed with 1,500 euros.

Within the FICTION FEATURE FILM category, the following awards will also be granted:

· VERRACO DE PIEDRA Award for BEST DIRECTOR.

· VERRACO DE PIEDRA Award for BEST SCREENPLAY.

· VERRACO DE PIEDRA Award for BEST LEADING ACTOR.

· VERRACO DE PIEDRA Award for BEST LEADING ACTRESS.

· VERRACO DE PIEDRA HONORARY AWARD.

· VERRACO DE PIEDRA SPECIAL CATEGORY AWARD.

The organisation of the International Film Festival Villa de Ledesma announces the competition of this 2nd edition of the event and the following rules are established.

1. The 2nd edition of the International Film Festival Villa de Ledesma will take place from October 2nd to October 4th, 2025.

2. The International Film Festival Villa de Ledesma aims to bring together a selection of films produced all over the world, with it's focus of argument or location of production is the rural environment, and to promote the discovery of both the works presented and the setting in which they take place.

3. Any person or legal entity may participate, individually or collectively, and with no age limit.

Any audiovisual production is valid, regardless of whether it has been shown or screened before.

4. Any audiovisual production submitted to previous editions of the International Film Festival Villa de Ledesma will not be admitted.

5. FULL length FILMS must pay an entry fee of 12 euros. SHORT FILMS must pay an entry fee of 10 euros. The registration process will be carried out through the platform Festhome within the established deadline. The deadline for registration and reception of productions is August 10th, 2025.

6. For a production to be eligible for entry it must meet one of the following requirements:

- 40 % of the footage must takes place in a rural environment.

- During the course of the film, some activity, issue, etc. related to the rural world is dealt with.

7. The submitted productions whose main language is other than Spanish must include Spanish subtitles.

8. The Organising Committee will make a preliminary selection of the works submitted. This selection will be communicated through the Festival's official website and social media.

9. The authors will be responsible for the content of their work, which in no case must infringe the Intellectual Property Rights or other rights of third parties. The International Film Festival Villa de Ledesma will not be held responsible for any legal liability.

10. An Official Selection will be announced on September 10th, 2025 through the Festival's official website and social media. The Festival reserves the right to use the submitted material as promotional material for itself.

11. The selected works will be screened to the public during the days of the Festival (October 2nd - October 4th, 2025). The Festival's right to screen the work is granted at the moment of registration.

12. The Jury will be appointed by the Festival organisers, who will award the prizes and whose decisions will be final. The Jury will have the power to declare the prize void if it deems it appropriate.

13. The awards ceremony will take place on the last day of the Festival during the Closing Gala. In case of being eligible for a prize, there must be a representative of the work during the Gala.

14. The productions that are nominated for a prize (OFFICIAL SELECTION) in the International Film Festival Villa de Ledesma must include the corresponding image, provided by the Festival, on all distributed copies and promotional and communication media.

15. The Productions that win prizes at the International Film Festival Villa de Ledesma must include a written reference in all copies of the winning film distributed, as well as in their promotional and communication media. The image to be included will be provided by the Festival organisers.

16. Once the Official Selection has been made, the following information must be sent:
- Digital image of the cover or poster of the film.
- Information sheet about the work.
- Biography and filmography of the author.

The participation of a film in the International Film Festival Villa de Ledesma implies full acceptance of these regulations.
The interpretation of the regulations will be the exclusive competence of the Festival's Organising Committee.
