Cartagena Negra is the noir novel festival of the city of Cartagena. These days revolve around literature and the noir genre. The festival celebrates this year its tenth edition, becoming a reference in this type of literature.
During the days of the festival there are round tables, lectures, presentations of new literary novels, reading clubs... In addition to other events related to the noir theme: monologue contest, micro-open, talks and meetings.
In this edition, the VIII Edition of the Cartagena Negra Short Film Contest will be held, which has already become a fundamental element in the official programme. In Cartagena Negra we are passionate about cinema, that's why we want to combine in the same event the literary genre with the cinematographic one.
So, in the spirit of strengthening this relationship with the world of cinema, during this edition we will be screening films of the noir genre, including the participation of filmmakers specialising in this type of story.
The Cartagena Negra Short Film Award has the clear vocation of vindicating the short film within the current cinematographic panorama, contributing to its recognition. The short film is also cinema.

1.Works presented
Only short films with the following characteristics can be submitted to the 8th Cartagena Negra Short Film Competition:
-Maximum length: 25 minutes.
-Technique: no restrictions.
-Country of origin: no restrictions.
-Date of production: only works made on or after 1 January 2024 will be accepted.
-Language: works must be submitted in their original language. In the case of a version other than Spanish, the work must have Spanish subtitles or attach the list of original dialogues with Spanish translation.
-Number of short films: there is no limit to the number of short films submitted. Each author can participate with as many short films as he/she considers.
