The FICAR ENTRIMO International Short Film Festival has the particularity of bringing cinema closer to the cross-border rural environment.
THEME:
Travel, migration, the uninhabited, flight, movement, refugees, the uninhabited, displacement, the non-place and ultimately all the themes that are associated with change.

AWARDS
The day of the exhibition and the award ceremony will be communicated one month in advance of the award ceremony.
The prizes will be delivered to the author or to a member of the production team, under the authorization of the author.
Categories:
Jury award for best short film.
Audience Award for Best Short Film.
The jury may award mentions without financial amount to the works they considered as well as to the different technical or artistic departments.
FAILURE AND SHORT FILM SCREENING
The jury's decision will be announced within the framework of the II Ficar Entrimo 2024 Exhibition. Once it has been verified that the works presented fully comply with these rules, the finalist works will be selected and will be projected in the Entrimo Porta do Xurés space. .
ACCEPTANCE OF THE RULES
Any unforeseen eventuality arising in relation to the development of the II FICAR ENTRIMO 2024 Exhibition, not expressly contemplated in these rules, will be resolved in accordance with the criteria of the organization.
Participation in the contest implies full acceptance of the rules, with the organization reserving the power to resolve
PARTICIPANTS AND SCOPE
All those who wish to participate in the II International Short Film and Art Festival FICAR ENTRIMO 2024 will be able to participate, regardless of their age and/or nationality, whether they are professionals or amateurs.
TOPICS AND CATEGORIES
The theme of the shorts is emigration, they can be recorded at a national or international level, valuing the content that reflects the situation experienced in rural Galicia, although emigration will be taken into account in the broadest sense, both from the point of view of the senders or receivers of the population as well as the person who emigrates, worldwide over the last decades.
SHORTS
The short films submitted must be related to the object of the contest, and may be silent or with incorporated sound. The language used in the short films may be Galician, Spanish or, failing that, any other language subtitled in Galician or Spanish. Exclusively fiction films, not documentaries.
Each author or entity may submit a maximum of 2 short films, accompanied by the corresponding title and, optionally, a short text that explains said audiovisual project (will be valued).
Under no circumstances will short films that do not respect human rights, democratic values and equality, or that contain content that is offensive or disrespectful towards individuals or groups, be accepted in the competition.
DEADLINES, PRESENTATION AND SHIPPING
The admission period for short films will open on April 1, 2024, ending on July 15, 2024.
The maximum duration will be 30 minutes.
The short films will be sent through the Festhome platform, and will be accompanied by a technical and artistic sheet, contact information, and a brief biographical note of the person or people who sign as filmmakers. Failing that, through a link to the email: ficarentrimo@gmail.com.
The audiovisual file may be presented in any of the following formats: avi, .mpg, wma, mp4 or similar. The maximum size will be 8 GB.
The works must be submitted indicating the link where the short films are hosted (Youtube, Vimeo or any other similar server), with the corresponding access codes for viewing, along with the data proving their authorship at the following email address .
Once the short film is selected, it cannot be removed.
Participants will be invited to the presentation of the short film, as well as to the awards ceremony. If a short film is awarded, its representatives are obliged to collect the award, except for justified cause.
JURY
It will be made up of professionals from the sector, including the winner of the best short film from the last edition.
The jury's decision will be final, reserving the right to interpret these rules.
The jury may declare the contest void due to the absence of participants or due to the lack of quality and interest of the short films submitted to the competition.
