Bloodtober Fest is an international fantasy and horror film festival and is a showcase for short films of the genre.

1. Bloodtober Fest is an independent film festival specializing in the genres of horror, fantasy, and science fiction.

2. The festival is international. Short films of any nationality produced after January 1, 2023, are eligible. If the original language of the short film is not Spanish or Valencian, it must include subtitles in one of these two languages.

3. Sections

• Fiction: Live-action short films in the genres of horror, fantasy, or science fiction, with a maximum duration of 30 minutes.

• Animation: Short films created using traditional animation, stop motion, 3D, rotoscoping, or other techniques, in the genres of horror, fantasy, or science fiction, with a maximum duration of 30 minutes.

• Documentary: The theme must be related to the genres of horror, fantasy, or science fiction. Its maximum duration must not exceed 30 minutes.

4. Submission platforms

All short films must be submitted through the associated platforms: Festhome.

5. Deadline

The submission period will open on May 1, 2025, and will close on May 31, 2025.

6. Selection of works and screening rights

A selection committee will review the films and choose the finalists to be included in the festival's program. The committee's decision will be notified to all participants through the submission platforms before the list of selected titles is published.

Selected works will be required to submit a screening copy in .mov or .mp4 format, which can be sent using any digital file transfer method.

The rights holders of the selected films will grant screening rights exclusively within the festival's program. The festival will not transfer the work to third parties, nor will it distribute it, in whole or in part, via the internet or other digital means.

7. Awards

Audience Award for Best Short Film: €300 + trophy.

The award will be presented during the closing ceremony of the 13th Festival Internacional de Cine Pequeño in August 2026.

8. Location and dates of the festival

The festival will take place from October 30 to November 1, 2025, at the Auditorio Periodista Ángel María Boronat in Aspe (Alicante).

9. Acceptance of the rules

Submitting and sending a film implies acceptance of these rules.
