Festival start: 01 January 2025      Festival end: 31 December 2025

Pequecinema is a Touring Children's Film Festival that in 2025 will visit several towns across Spain, showcasing the best short films aimed at a young audience (from 2 to 15 years old).

Organized by CortoEspaña - Premios Fugaz (the main short film awards in Spain, chosen by more than 1,500 industry professionals), the event seeks to give visibility to works directed at younger audiences, while also promoting short films and fostering a love for the format among the youngest members of the household.

Screening Fee Shorts: 250€

For inclusion in the project, each selected short film will receive a fee of 100 euros + 15 euros for each minute of the film’s duration (plus VAT). This will be a one-time payment and will cover all events in which the short film is screened throughout 2025 (not all short films will be programmed at all events, as some will consist of only one session).

PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES

· Short films of any nationality, up to 30 minutes long, with a release date from January 1, 2022, can be submitted.

· Submission fee: Registration is completely free and digital through this form.

· Works that are not in Spanish must have subtitles in this language.

· All genres are welcome; not just animation, but also fiction, and even documentary or experimental works will be considered (if they are suitable for a young audience).

· The deadline for submissions is October 31, 2024 (inclusive).

· Each author may submit as many short films as they wish.

SELECTION CONDITIONS

A viewing committee will select between 20 and 30 works, which will be screened across the country as part of Pequecinema 2025. The organization cannot guarantee a specific number of events in the project: in 2023, there were 8 events, and so far in 2024, there have been 12 (each consisting of between 1 and 4 short film sessions with free admission). Pequecinema will aim to ensure that the project reaches as many locations as possible (check here for dates and places where the project has already taken place: https://www.pequecinema.com/localidades/).

The short films will be promptly informed of each event in which they participate.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

· The organization reserves the right to use fragments of selected short films, under 60 seconds, for the creation of promotional audiovisual materials.

· Directors of selected short films agree, as far as possible, to provide interviews and updates for the promotion and dissemination of the short film, Pequecinema, and/or the events that are part of the project.

· Registration will be completely free and online, and will be done through the following form.

· Confidentiality commitment: Pequecinema will use the submitted materials for private viewing. They will not be used for any other purpose, nor will they be publicly screened through physical, electronic, or virtual media outside of the festival circuit.

· Viewing commitment: Pequecinema commits to watching all submitted works.

· Acceptance of the guidelines: Participation in Pequecinema implies acceptance of all sections of these guidelines, as well as the resolution of any unforeseen matters by the organization.
