The Baixada Film Festival is a celebration of cinematic art and a cultural boost for Pinheiro, Maranhão. Aiming to promote cinematic diversity, the festival highlights local and national productions. In addition to screenings, it will offer lectures, workshops and workshops to train young filmmakers and engage the community. The initiative, led by Leandro Guterres in partnership with APROCINPI - Pinheiro Producers and Filmmakers Association, also aims to position Pinheiro as a cultural and tourist destination, strengthening the city on the national scene.

The Baixada Film Festival will take place in several locations in Pinheiro, with screenings ranging from the city center to the banks of the Pericumã River. The screenings will be held in strategic and cultural spaces, providing an immersive cinematic experience, connecting the city's natural and urban wealth.

Registration for the 1st Baixada Maranhense International Festival – Baixada Film Festival is open from October 28 to November 12, 2024. We accept short films of up to 15 minutes and medium-length films of up to 40 minutes, of any genre and theme, produced from January 1, 2023.
