The Umbria Underground Film Festival is dedicated to independent and experimental cinema. We are looking for shortfilms out of the mainstream either in its style, genre or financing. The festival is organised by Ospizio Giovani Artisti of Rome (also organizer of the (S)exhibitions, on Festhome), in its space in Umbria. The intention is to offer the opportunity to visual artists and filmmakers to show their works in a context that stimulates reflection and free artistic expression. With a curated selection of films that challenge conventions and expectations, the festival celebrates the variety of cinematographic languages and welcomes proposals ranging from narratives through experimental films, to postporn cinema.

1. Objective of the Festival

The festival aims to give visibility to cinematographic works that challenge the conventions of traditional cinema, that explore innovative languages ​​and that raise questions about society, culture and art. We welcome films that tell unconventional stories, that use cinema as a form of free and experimental expression.

2. Who can participate

The festival is open to directors and creatives from all over the world. Films of all nationalities and languages ​​are admitted, but english subtitles are required. Films containing nudity and explicit sex are also admitted without censorship.

3.Participation requirements

Films must be made on or after January 1, 2020. Maximum length 15 minutes.

Films in languages ​​other than Italian must be accompanied by Italian or english subtitles.

4.Rights and authorizations

Each participant guarantees that they have all the necessary rights to screen the film and that they have obtained all authorizations for the use of copyrighted material (such as music, images, etc.).

5.Terms and conditions

Registration for the festival implies full acceptance of this regulation.

The festival reserves the right to modify, add or delete parts of the regulation, with adequate notice to subscribers. In case of disputes, the final decision will be at the discretion of the festival organization.

6. The festival not pay for board and lodging, nor incur costs for the participation to the festival or pay for costs related to the showing of the film.

7. Entry fees are not refundable.
